This is a rare steakhouse restaurant among the many restaurants in Pontocho. The set meal is quite affordable, and a set of steak comes with a variety of dipping sauces and ways of eating. The staff is also very welcoming to foreign customers, so I recommend everyone to come and eat.

The uniqueness of this restaurant is that the steak is fried until it is tender pink in the middle. Fried steak is not common in China, and it is even rarer to fry it crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. You will be given a hot spring egg to dip in the steak, which tastes great.

I have always wanted to go to Kyoto Katsugyu, and this time I have the chance. I ordered the beef loin set meal (ribeye), which costs 1,380 yen, and of course I ordered the large set meal for 1,580 yen. The rice, shredded cabbage and miso soup here are all refillable, ensuring you can eat as much as you want. What is more special is his four sauces, fried steak sauce, salt and pepper special pepper salt, and mustard soy sauce. There is also Kyoto-style curry sauce. The meat is good, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, not bad.

I have seen this restaurant online before. I missed the meal time again and saw that there was no queue, so I went in to eat. This restaurant specializes in fried steak. The Japanese are so meticulous that a fried steak can be divided into many types, which is really difficult for me to choose. He coated the steak with flour and fried it until half-cooked. The middle was still bloody (I thought there would be a slab to bake it, but there was not, so it should not be this restaurant). Takeout comes with half-cooked eggs, curry, and various sauces. When the waiter serves the dishes, he will explain to you in English how to eat it. In fact, a piece of steak can be dipped in different things and eaten in many ways. Curry will cover the aroma of the steak and is not recommended. I strongly recommend dipping it in half-cooked eggs. It is so fragrant~~~ I used to be very resistant to eating raw eggs. I felt that there were a lot of bacteria. This egg was slightly cooked and acceptable. The fragrant and crispy tender steak dipped in egg yolk is absolutely fragrant. The taste is very crispy and the meat is smooth. It is delicious! Actually, we ordered the second most expensive steak, but the waiter ordered the most expensive one by mistake. When we paid the bill, they also settled it according to what we ordered. Did we make a profit? Hahahaha~~ I haven’t tried the other ones, so I can’t compare them, so I ordered the most expensive one! It’s super delicious! Highly recommended!
