travelerererAfter visiting Ginkakuji Temple, I came to check in at this Japanese restaurant nearby. The online reviews were very high, and it really lived up to my expectations. First of all, I highly recommend several dishes in this restaurant. The first is the fresh sea urchin, which feels like the meat melts in your mouth. It's great. The second is the Japanese fried chicken, which is fried crispy. There are also potato cakes, fried noodles, etc., which are all very delicious.

This restaurant is amazing, famous for being hard to get a reservation at. Having never tried kaiseki, I gave it a try and was blown away! It was a completely different experience from the typical Western fine dining experience. The dishes were barely seasoned, yet incredibly fragrant. The meal was excellent, with plenty of vegetables. The venison was also delicious.
There was no atmosphere, the main course was a smoked salty sardine dish with potatoes and rice on the side. The chef could see that this dish didn't please us so he gave us some crispy stuff too. It was terrible compared to what we had in Tokyo. Apparently you have to pay $180 for the pp set to get those two slices of beef. Very disappointed. No more words.
