Eastern Europe and West Africa Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the belated Bosnia and Hercegovina (Bosna i Hercegovina), in fact, I planned such a trip as early as 2019. I didn’t expect that three years later, I still bought a cross-border bus with the same time as then, which can be regarded as continuing the cross-continental journey that was blocked by the Y epidemic at that time. Surprisingly, although it is an Eastern European country that shares a border with its neighbor Croatia, the three days in Bosnia and Herzegovina reminded me of the time and scenes in Cape Verde in West Africa. From the countless small family supermarkets with very few product choices, there are no sandwiches or any lazy food at all, the private gravel roads with unclear road signs, to the hotel's request to withhold passports... and so on, even to the influence of Islamic culture, many women wearing headscarves, often making people wonder if they have returned to Africa.
Neum is located on the Adriatic Sea and is the only outlet to the sea in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although the coastline is said to be 24.5 km long, the straight-line distance of the coastline is only about nine kilometers, which can be walked on foot. The extra numbers are actually a very desolate peninsula in the sea, which is still miserably surrounded by Croatia. My postdoctoral friend M is Croatian. He laughed and said that Neum is basically theirs, which means that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a landlocked country. It is exactly the same as my photos here, which are almost all filled with Dubrovnik, a tourist attraction in Croatia that became popular because of Game of Thrones.
