Cash only, so be prepared. The parking lot on the east side saved us a lot of hassle. Food was solid, just what we needed after a long drive.

The eel liver skewers were interesting. A bit bitter at first, but I kept going back for more. Ended up ordering another round.

Cozy spot, feels like stepping back in time. Staff were really nice and patient with my English. The katsu curry was good, but the portion felt a bit small for the price. Still, a pleasant lunch.

The fugu sashimi here was incredibly fresh. The texture was firm, with a subtle sweetness. The chef's knife work was precise, each slice was perfect. It's a bit pricey, but the quality justifies it.

The mapo tofu was just right with the spice. Had it with a bowl of rice, and the whole thing was really comforting. The place itself is pretty cozy, which made it a nice, relaxed meal.

As a wine lover, I was curious about their soy-based patty. Paired it with a light red, and it actually worked. The lettuce wrap was a nice touch for my gluten-free friend. Good to see thoughtful options.

Tried the Jigoku ramen. The spicy miso broth was good, definitely warming. Portion size was decent, plenty of veggies and a good amount of char siu. For the price point, it felt like a fair deal.

Been coming here for years. The staff always remembers us and handles any little hiccup so smoothly. That's why we keep coming back.

The staff was on top of things. Plates were cleared almost immediately after finishing each course, which kept the pace of the meal moving nicely. No waiting around for the next dish.

A nice local spot that's been around for a while. The staff was really friendly and efficient, even on a busy night. I appreciate that. The booth seating was comfortable, which made for a relaxed dinner.

Grilled blackthroat seaperch here changed my mind about fish. Skin was perfectly crisp, and the flesh inside was so moist and flaky. Usually I find grilled fish a bit dry, but this one was different. A real pleasant surprise.

Been coming here for years, and the location right by Beppu Station is a huge plus. It's just so easy to pop in after a long train ride. The food's always been consistently good, which is why I keep coming back.

Stopped by for a quick bite. The BBQ had that real, smoky flavor you get from the local spots. Price didn't hurt the wallet either. Felt like I was just grabbing dinner down the street.

Found this place while craving halal food in Tokyo. The curry had a proper thick texture, and the rice was nicely seasoned. Portions are generous for the price, which is a relief when you're traveling. Will come back.

Got there at 5:30 and the place was already buzzing. The low, warm light on the wooden tables felt so cozy. Just the right kind of hum for a weeknight dinner.

A shame they're not open year-round. The lunch deal with the salad and drink bar is pretty good.

The yakitori was solid, but the real star was their sake list. They had a few local junmai that paired beautifully with the squid sashimi. The fried daikon was a nice touch, though the omelet could've been a bit warmer.

Been coming here for years, and their fishcakes are always just right. That's why I keep coming back.

The pan-grilled mochi was the highlight. The outside had this perfect, light crisp to it, and the inside was wonderfully soft and stretchy. A simple dish, but they got the texture just right.
