TheForkUserUnfortunately the main thing that let this restaurant down was that albeit they said the fish that day wasn’t to the level they have at the restaurant which is fair enough, that they only have salmon and tuna. This was extremely disappointing and had we known prior to sitting down we likely would have gone elsewhere. This is very common fish which we could have anywhere so it did let the whole meal down really! This is what sushi is and to be told we didn’t think many people would have sushi at an Asian restaurant was surprising.. the sashimi was removed from the bill as a gesture of good will which was appreciated but it stopped us ordering a lot more and we left hungry as we didn’t just want tuna and salmon for the whole meal!

TheForkUserBooked into this restaurant and we were not disappointed, friendly service and amazing food. The menu is limited to chicken but they do this really well. We had the Portuguese sausage to start with some bread which was amazing. Then the main dish of half a chicken and chips. Chicken was full of flavour and the chips hot and tasty. A really good meal highly recommended. People were coming in and out for take out orders too so it’s clearly well known. A great place.

TheForkUserThe restaurant in Lagoa is wonderful. We were 4 people and had dishes you do not find on a regular menu. What a wonderful surprise if you care for homecooked unusual portuguese dishes.Not that they do not serve the normal ones but we did not try them.

However everything was very good . Delicious simple tasty Portuguese food , grilled fish , meat , shellfish all very well cooked . Service very helpful and friendly , good wine list .Very reasonable prices

TheForkUserIn California, we have a sushi bar or restaurant just about on every corner. So I’d say we’re pretty savvy when it comes to good sushi. This place was not just good, it was great. The fish was so fresh it practically flopped off the plate and into our mouths. Definitely worth a visit followed by a second one.

TheForkUserHad booked here for 80th birthday lunch for my mother in law, after a quick search and based on reviews online. What a lovely place. Service was excellent -special mention to lovely Katja! Food was great and very reasonably priced. Lovely wine and puddings. Mother in law was delighted with complimentary pudding and gift after Katja found out it was her birthday. It made her day very special. Highly recommend this place. Unexpected surprise in this location -lots of locals eating -always a good sign. Thanks again for a great meal 😊.

TheForkUserWe had a Cataplana do polvo. Super tasty and the octopus was cooked on the point. The lady who served us was so nice a welcoming. The place has in and outside tables. We had a perfect lunch there. Everything was amazing. This restaurant is not a tourist trap like other restaurants in the area. For a seafood restaurant the prices are fair. We will go there again when we are in the area of Carvoeiro.

We had the mushroom appetizer and shrimp appetizer both had great flavors. Also had the crab curry and octopus rice. Everyone was happy and we definitely will be back.

I love chicken so went for the house speciality. It's an art to make the perfect piripiri chicken so it's not dry yet have crispy skin: all I can say is Rampa's chef is a consummate artist!
