TheForkUserOn arrival we were met by Johnny himself who takes time to get to know his customers.He took time to show us his collection of Saxaphones and photos and share the stories behind them.Our meals were excellent, I really enjoyed the catfish. Johnny provided great entertainment and was followed by a very popular pop quiz.We had a really enjoyable evening in this great venue.

TheForkUserWelcomed by Rita as front of house, we were told it was mainly vegan / vegetarian food. We were open to trying a predominantly none meat as she mentioned there was one dish that contained meat. Started with the Couvert that contained sourdough bread and various butter / spreads all of which were delicious. Next up the starters Padron peppers and the special of the day. This I tried for the first time. Everything complimented each flavour, melon avocado and tapioca to name a few ingredients it zinged in my mouth - again delicious. The mains up next my Vegetable curry with jasmine rice a delight and the cannelloni with mushrooms, wow what a play with food. Finally, the desserts crème brûlée and the play on cheesecake well these finished off the meal well, and being vegan / vegetarian an eye opener as what you can do. All washed down with an IPA and a bottle of white wine Advad from the local area. A joy to eat at this special little gem of a place. Couldn’t fault anything. Will be back…

TheForkUserWe thought to try this restaurant Tasca da Cascata, and I don't like to write a bad review but prefer to mention this to the owner(s) personally but as this restaurant belongs to the hotel Ondamar this would be difficult to reach the owner(s) and hopefully they would read this too.. Our table was very sticky. There was not much on the menu (and different from the menu on Fork), and a few things on the menu were not available anyway.The two ladies working there were nice and tried their best.Its location is nice though overlooking the mini golf, But, it is more like a snackbar for the minigolf.No, we will not go back there again!!!

The staff were lovely, so helpful, couldn’t do enough for you and took the time to speak to our 6 yr old son! The food was great quality and the best we had in Alvor! Will return again next year

TheForkUserThe restaurant didn’t have our reservation, and we almost got sent away. They blamed the fork, and indirectly us for booking through the fork. It was pretty offensive and they should have instead apologised for not having their things in order, and not blame the client. Booked it a week before and confirmed on the day itself. Not a good way to start the evening and the manager of the restaurant was clearly stressed out. The reception of the hotel was also pretty cold and had a hard to time to produce a smile.Other than that, the food, albeit in the expensive side, is of really good quality and the staff in the restaurant are friendly and work well.

TheForkUserWonderful little restaurant, we sat outside but I hadn’t realised they had an upstairs area that I’ll be trying next time! The picanha I had was amazing and there’s so many sides included that I couldn’t finish everything. All delicious and top quality, while being big portions and very reasonably priced. The service was friendly and fast, the sangrias are strong and tasty!
