The tuna in the Yamamoto Special Rice Bowl was so fresh. That sesame oil sauce was everything, really tied it all together. Got a huge bowl for the price, honestly more than I could finish.

The fried oysters were really crispy, and the simmered saury had a nice flavor. The set with miso soup and a drink for 1,400 yen is a solid choice. I liked the simple wooden tables and the quiet, calm vibe inside.

The walk from Sendai Station was easy, maybe 5 minutes. I went for a late lunch and still had to wait a little while. The staff were very kind about it, and the seats inside were surprisingly comfortable.

The duck hotpot was quite nice, the broth had a decent balance. The sashimi, including the sculpin shark heart, had a pretty good crunchy texture. A solid meal overall.

Tried the Koikeya Tanmen with medium-thick noodles. The soup had a really nice, punchy flavor that was so easy to drink.

The 1.5-person set is a solid deal for the price. Big portions. The beef tongue was juicy and had good flavor. Perfect for a quick, filling lunch. Got my order fast.
