TheForkUserIf I could predict my "last supper" it would be at Le Castelet. The food is amazingly good and the owners make you feel so welcome but not intrusive. They deserve all the positive feedback they receive. If you are ever in Blois make sure you book Le Castelet. You will not be disappointed.
TheForkUserOn arrival, a restaurant in a bland hotel on a roundabout under construction: not immediately promising. The amuse bouche soon laid any fears to rest, though: an excellent meal then followed. There is a chef in this kitchen with a real genius for textures and taste combinations. It matches or exceeds Michelin starred food I have eaten. Everything was delicious, and a few (the tonka bean dessert and the polenta cake with the guinea fowl) were stand-outs. Service was attentive. We had a wonderful lunch.
TheForkUserWe loved everything about this place! The service was top-notch: attentive, warm and friendly. The food was amazing!! We opted to order a la carte instead of the fixed menu. We ordered the starter of langoustines with asparagus and I’ve never had shrimp cooked so perfectly. For our main dishes we had monkfish with a delicious vierge sauce (olive oil, basil, garlic, etc) and then a sea bass with a delightful curry sauce that was so subtle and worked great with the perfectly cooked fish. It was amazing!! On the side they brought us a vegetable medley of cabbage, artichoke, zucchini and pepper (even though it was a side, this was one of our favorite dishes!)After dinner we had a cheese course with so many delicious cheeses. For dessert: a chocolate molten cake with raspberry sorbet and the most incredible soufflé I have ever had in my life (by far)!! For wines they had a list that was literally a book and they were able to recommend fabulous wines with our meal. We highly recommend!!
TheForkUserThis was a wonderful discovery - delicious and sophisticated, locally produced food, served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. And with an extremely reasonable bill at the end. What's not to like!
TheForkUserA bit out of the way if you’re staying in Amboise but worth the 5 minute drive from city center. Our waiter was extremely friendly and the food was excellent. It was a very hot day so we started with a very cold beer that hit the spot perfectly.
TheForkUserVery nice restaurant with a good vibe. The food was very good at a reasonable price. We had the sparkling rose which was excellent. Very good experience and would recommend
TheForkUserAfter a busy day of touring châteaus, it was wonderful to unwind at this restaurant which offers beautiful views of the Cher River and an ancient bridge. We enjoyed a lovely repast — melt in your mouth lamb, tarte Tatin and Saumur wine. Service was most attentive and we look forward to a return visit soon!
TheForkUserThis amazing restaurant is well worth the visit from anywhere south of Paris. Every course was well thought out, and even though we ordered fois gras, we received a bonus fois gras dish after the excellent amuse. The lobster “three ways” was perhaps the other highlight although both deserts were spectacular. A special mention for the wine pairing that was perhaps the best I have had, all wines locally sourced as well. And bring your kids. The children’s menu is incredibly affordable and is to the same standard as the adult menu. C’est magnifique!. 10/10
_TI***crI had a delightful experience with well-seasoned dishes and impeccable service. The prices were reasonable for the quality provided.
TheForkUserCharming small restaurant about 15 minutes’ walk from the centre. There is a good choice of fairly priced set menus and well chosen wine list. The cheese trolley of about 20 local ch
TheForkUserExcellent food and service. Thank you for a wonderful experience. The wine - it was lovely. There is only a small suggestion: the dining experience would be enhanced with some music in the background. Jazz or classical or guitar.
TheForkUserOne of the few quality restaurants open in Blois on a Monday evening. My five discerning guests and I were not disappointed. Very good service and well presented food.
TheForkUserExceptional meal - the chef is very creative and is expert at using surprising ingredients in interesting ways. A special mention for the desserts which the chef came to serve and which he tailors to each guest, depending on the guest’s preferences. Wine list is also good with many local wines.A great experience from start to finish.
TheForkUserVery nice country inn managed by a charming couple. Creative cuisine mixing traditional French recipes and exotic spices. Surprisingly good!
TheForkUserNice restaurant with a very nice view on Chambord castle (luckily we were able to eat outside); due to a misunderstanding our main course arrived late, but with a view on Chambord castle we could not complain; very nice dessert, and nice French cooking with a modern twist
TheForkUserVery good food ! Quiet and nice athmosphere on the terrace outside Very friendly and professional service
TheForkUserAmazing! One of our new favorites! Will for sure come again soon!
TheForkUserThe menu was in french and english, our waitress was lovely, the food was delicious, the setting great & it was easy to book online
_TI***nuI was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes here. The tasting platters are a great way to explore different flavors, and the unlimited cheese naan is a delightful bonus!

TheForkUserWe were so happy to enjoy this wonderful restaurant. The service was thoughtful , the presentation was masterful and the flavors and textures were divine. We drank a local wine from Amboise which went well with our three course meal.
TheForkUserBooked at short notice. We were welcomed enthusiastically. Sat outside with excellent ambiance Menu is limited but varied and the food which arrived quickly was excellent and perfectly cooked. Not as grand as some but this was our favourite local restaurant on a cycle tour down the Loire.
