We had an innovative, very tasty and great value meal here to round off our stay in Essaouira. Goat cheese pastry and crab with avocado - a great start to the meal along with a tempting array of freebies; seafood recipes and grilled squid mains were equally excellent - the names were completely deceiving, the imagination and care of the chef was evident in the dishes. We couldn't eat dessert in the end - but the food was so good that we tried one anyway - a light, perfectly fluffy chocolate mousse, which did not disappoint. No alcoholic drinks menu - but the various juices on offer all tasted good. On a final note, my wife said it was lucky we didn't discover this place on our first day as we probably wouldn't have gone anywhere else!

There are many green foods here, all of which are very appetizing. There are not many seasonings, but the ingredients have a natural fragrance, which is very original and healthy.
Many people come here to eat vegetarian food. The ingredients are fresh, local, lightly cooked, and very healthy. Young people nowadays also like it.

THE LOFT, from any perspective, should be considered the best restaurant we have encountered in Essaouira, no doubt about it. At the corner of an alley, the LOGO is very eye-catching, and the slightly raised stone arch and decorative eaves, matched with the cold black floor-to-ceiling doors, complement each other. Although the two huge menus on the left and right of the door are both black with white text, they are specially selected with frames and brackets of different colors. The different heights and strong visual contrast make people stop. Of course, the two menus are not just for eye-catching. The left one is French and the right one is English, which is very pleasing to us who have seen too many pure French menus. It is indeed a small restaurant with small tables, but it is simple and unique. Whether it is the various nostalgic ornaments on the wooden wall or the various cups on each table that are not repeated, it can be seen that some careful thought has been put in. The custom in Morocco is to have bread and olives before meals. Every restaurant has them, but each one is different. This one is a more traditional round bread with butter. However, unlike Spain across the strait, the green and black olives here are chopped finely, which makes them more flavorful. When the avocado tartar with crab was served, it was really amazing. The presentation was quite exquisite, and the cucumber and carrot were skillfully cut. As the protagonist, the layers of white crab meat on the green and delicate avocado bloomed like chrysanthemum petals. For a moment, I was stunned. For PASTA, my usual standard is to absorb the sauce. No matter how good the sauce is, if there are some flaws in the absorption of the sauce, it will be half ruined, just like a martial arts master who can only release but not absorb, he will fall into the lower level. This Penne with salmon and parmesan can score 9.5 points out of 10. The absorption of the sauce is almost perfect, and the salmon is also generous. The last dish, Thinly sliced beef tenderloin with pears, is also a sincere work. On top of the tender and refreshing mashed potatoes is the most tender beef tenderloin. When you take a bite, the taste of pears and onions penetrates and spreads, with a three-dimensional sweet layered feeling that can be savored for a long time. If such a restaurant is in Barcelona, where there are many restaurants, you can pay tribute to the predecessors who charge 75 euros per person, so it is our luck to meet it here. Creative, delicious and beautifully presented dishes based on traditional Moroccan but with a very modern and appealing twist. This is THE LOFT.
