Dining at the Nikko Hotel's Japanese restaurant was a treat. The variety of dishes, especially the sashimi and tempura, were fresh and flavorful. The lunch set was reasonably priced at 3,200 yen, offering great value for the quality.

The burger was just okay, a bit dry. Good spot for a quick bite if you're passing by.

Been coming here for years. The tempura rice balls are always made fresh to order. That chewy rice with the plump, crispy shrimp inside... it's the one thing I keep coming back for. Simple, but they never mess it up.

The modern bar vibe is really nice here. I like that they have Spanish prosciutto in regular and half sizes, makes it easy to just drop in for a snack. The seating is comfortable too.

Nice, upscale vibe but still relaxing. The wood and tatami interior is quite elaborate. Food was pretty good.

The semi-private room was nice for a quiet dinner. It felt cozy and the staff was very attentive. I did notice it gets a bit loud when bigger parties arrive, but it wasn't too distracting. A comfortable spot for a relaxed meal.

The set meal's rice was perfectly cooked, but the star was the dipping sauces. There were three, each with a distinct flavor profile. One was a savory miso-based, another had a citrusy kick, and the last was a simple, clean soy. Made the cabbage and everything else way more interesting.

Stopped in for a late lunch, around 3. Place was nice and quiet. Got the tiramisu. The coffee flavor was strong, just how I like it. Not too sweet either. A solid choice.

The jumbo fried shrimp here is my go-to for a quick lunch. Perfectly crispy, not greasy at all. Just a simple, satisfying bite with a view of the highway. Gets me back to work fast.

Great spot for lunch after Nara Park. The dipping sauce guide was helpful, and the chilled beer hit the spot.

The atmosphere is so calming, perfect for a quiet dinner. I had the grilled salmon, and the staff suggested a lovely white wine that paired beautifully with it. A bit on the pricier side, but the service was spot-on.

The old house setting is lovely. But the real star was the vegetables. The local greens in the small dishes had such a clean, fresh taste. You could tell they were just picked.

Restaurant in NIPPONIA HOTEL Igaueno Castle Town

It has the obvious feel of a chain restaurant but the staff is great and the food is good. Close to the train station and the sites of Nara. A family-friendly place but not the place to go to if you want to experience the dives.

Got here just after noon on a Saturday, no wait at all. Perfect for a quick lunch. Ordered the ramen, came out fast. Good portion for the price. Place got packed right after I sat down, so timing is key.

The Lunch Course B was a nice surprise. The cold pasta was the highlight for me. They suggested a crisp white wine that went perfectly with it. Good value for what you get.

The broth was rich and the noodles had a great chew. A solid glass of sake would have been the perfect pairing.

The Ganko Don set with ramen was a solid choice. The char siu was tender, and the rice bowl balanced the rich soup nicely. Good portion for the price.

The tonkatsu set here is solid. The cutlet is crispy, not greasy at all. Staff is quick with the water refills. Price is fair for what you get. Been coming for years, it's consistent.

A solid lunch spot in Naramachi, about 15 mins from Kintetsu Nara Station. The historic neighborhood is pleasant for a walk. Ordered the unagi don. The eel was fresh, sauce not too sweet. Portion was decent for the price. Service was efficient. Good for a straightforward meal.

The soy broth here nails that Kyoto style. It's got that deep, dark flavor but doesn't feel heavy or greasy at all. Just a clean, savory finish. The noodles were a good match for it.
