I was impressed by the variety of dishes available at the buffet, especially the thick roast beef and the delicious desserts.

Happy hour shochu highballs at 200 yen are a steal. The menu's huge, but I'd come back just for that thick, saucy rolled omelet with green onions. It paired surprisingly well with a crisp highball.

Been coming here for years. Their sara udon is the one to get. Big portion, thick sauce, crispy noodles. It's a solid choice when you're in the area.

The gyoza here have a thin, delicate skin and a subtle kick of spice. The garlic flavor comes through nicely without being overpowering. Really enjoyed them as a side.

Grilled fish was the star, cooked just right. The waitress was nice and warned me about the shrimp in the eggs, which I really needed to know. Good catch.

The soy patty burger was surprisingly juicy, with a nice char on the edges. The bun was soft but held up well. I just wish the portion felt a bit more substantial for the price.

Stopped by for a light lunch. The salad was a standout—really fresh greens, crisp vegetables, and a bright vinaigrette. The presentation was simple but thoughtful. Just what I was looking for.

Dining at the Nikko Hotel's Japanese restaurant was a treat. The variety of dishes, especially the sashimi and tempura, were fresh and flavorful. The lunch set was reasonably priced at 3,200 yen, offering great value for the quality.

The burger was just okay, a bit dry. Good spot for a quick bite if you're passing by.

Been coming here for years. The tempura rice balls are always made fresh to order. That chewy rice with the plump, crispy shrimp inside... it's the one thing I keep coming back for. Simple, but they never mess it up.

The modern bar vibe is really nice here. I like that they have Spanish prosciutto in regular and half sizes, makes it easy to just drop in for a snack. The seating is comfortable too.

Nice, upscale vibe but still relaxing. The wood and tatami interior is quite elaborate. Food was pretty good.

The semi-private room was nice for a quiet dinner. It felt cozy and the staff was very attentive. I did notice it gets a bit loud when bigger parties arrive, but it wasn't too distracting. A comfortable spot for a relaxed meal.

The set meal's rice was perfectly cooked, but the star was the dipping sauces. There were three, each with a distinct flavor profile. One was a savory miso-based, another had a citrusy kick, and the last was a simple, clean soy. Made the cabbage and everything else way more interesting.

Stopped in for a late lunch, around 3. Place was nice and quiet. Got the tiramisu. The coffee flavor was strong, just how I like it. Not too sweet either. A solid choice.

The homemade tofu was a nice surprise. Served warm, the texture was incredibly smooth. They give you a few different salts and a light sauce to try with it. Simple, but done very well.

The restaurant's location within the Nipponia Hotel adds to its charm, providing a serene dining experience. The use of fresh, local ingredients really shines through in the dishes, making it a must-visit for food lovers in Nara.

Restaurant in Kazeno Naramachi（formerly NIPPONIA HOTEL NARA NARAMACHI）

The straw-grilled salmon and skirt steak were fantastic. The bonito with just salt was my favorite—really let the fish's own flavor shine. Simple and done right.

Cozy spot for catching up with friends. The staff are super attentive and kept my tea topped up without me asking!

Been coming here for years, always get the quick drink set. The highball's just right, not too strong. Side dishes are simple but they never mess them up. Good place to unwind after work.

The staff here really stood out. They were genuinely friendly and attentive, which you don't always expect at a chain. Made the whole lunch feel a bit more personal.

The restaurant's location within a hotel offers a nice ambiance, but the food quality can be inconsistent. However, the variety of dishes available allows for a diverse dining experience.
