PUMPERNICKEL BAKERY

I was walking around Thamel in the morning and couldn't find anything to eat, so I saw this shop and went in. You can choose your own bread and cake, order a drink when you check out, and then enjoy breakfast in the clean and tidy lobby, which is great.

The food here is certainly not cheap compared to local restaurants in Nepal, but the food is ok, and it is definitely a good place to sit for a whole afternoon. Nepal often has power outages, and it has backup generators, so it is naturally less affected (although the generators are also very noisy).

Western food, Coffee Latte, Sandwich are quite delicious, good for breakfast. The price is quite affordable, small bread is very popular, seeing everyone eating, we also ordered, the taste is OK, there are quite a lot of people, the environment is moderate.

When I was walking along the Thamel Street with my friends, I found this Pumpernickel Bakery restaurant. It can be said that it is a relatively clean and tidy western-style bread bakery here. It is nice to go in and sit down. It also provides western light meals, sandwiches, etc. The most important thing is the bread here. It tastes very good, the quantity is large and the price is very cheap. The texture is relatively soft. You can buy 2 croissants and a cup of coffee for lunch for about 300 rupees.

This is my go to restaurant for breakfast, it is the place in Kathmandu that serves rye bread. Freshly baked bread with a cup of coffee, an egg and a bowl of steaming porridge is a really good morning meal and a great start to the day. The garden terrace is a great quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to just chill out, if it rains the seats are also comfortable with huge umbrellas. They now have Nepal Plus Reliable with free English newspapers and fast wifi.
