Curators House Restaurant

The restaurant is in a great location in the beautiful Christchurch Botanic Gardens and serves excellent Spanish food. The duck with orange and lamb were highlights. The taste was great, not cheap but definitely a good experience

Right inside the botanical garden, it's a good time to have a big meal after visiting the museum and art center. The seafood platter was thought to be a cold dish, but it was actually a hot dish with a very rich sweet and sour soup base, which made people salivate. The Australian fish meat was large and basically filled my stomach with it, and the taste was a bit bland; the prawns were a bit rotten and the taste was the worst; maybe they were not cooked separately, the mussels were a little old and not very elastic; the two clams were outstanding, big, plump and elastic, and the freshness was not covered by the impact of the thick soup. The 2016 Spanish white wine with lemon and pear aroma was ordered intuitively, bright and fresh with a strong aftertaste. I went there at noon without service charge. The middle-aged female waiter was very friendly and guided me to sit by the window to see the botanical garden. It was a good place to relax temporarily.

I found this restaurant when I was rafting on the Avon River. I was going to have lunch after the cruise, but I didn't expect that I would have to wait until 1:15 pm to get a seat, so I came here early for dinner. The three of us ordered two main dishes, pork sausage and seafood pasta. The sausage was a bit salty, but the seafood pasta was pretty good. After the meal, we each ordered a cup of coffee.

It's really fun. It relieves stress and exercises the body. It's a good experience.

It is spring recently, and the cherry blossoms on both sides of the river are blooming. It is very romantic to enjoy the 360-degree view from the boat. The boatman, dressed in Edwardian costume, took us through the river with a long pole. I also drew a picture of him. Haha. After the tour, I recommend you to try the Curators House restaurant in the Christchurch Botanical Gardens nearby.
