Lovely old pub, but the real star is the medieval painting they found behind the bar! It's a bit faded, but you can still make out the details. Makes you wonder what else is hiding in the walls. A proper slice of history with your pint.

Chef came out to check on us, nice touch. Food was really good, atmosphere was warm. Solid spot for a quick bite.

The giant mozzarella stick was a proper showstopper. So gooey inside, with a crispy golden crust. A fun way to kick things off, though it's definitely a shareable portion!

Popped in for a quick bite. The chicken schnitzel was spot on, crispy and hot. Staff were quick and polite, got me in and out in under 30 mins. Perfect for a solo lunch.

Tried the new menu on a whim. The grilled octopus was spot on, tender with a nice char. Ordering online was straightforward, no fuss.

Good wheelchair access and facilities here. Easy to get in and around. Makes a difference for a business lunch when you need a convenient, no-fuss location.

Lovely garden out back, perfect for a quiet drink. The alcohol-free option on tap is a thoughtful touch for those of us watching our intake.

Sky Sports was on for the match, which was a nice surprise. Grabbed a pint and found a comfy spot. It's clean and felt like a proper place to just settle in and watch.

Had a work do here last week. The buffet was decent, plenty of choice and kept topped up. The team handled our group of 20 really well, everything just flowed without any fuss. Made it easy for us.

Love the vibe here, proper local pub feel. Staff are spot on, friendly without being overbearing. Had the fish and chips, batter was crisp and the chips were proper chunky. Pint of ale was well kept. Just what you want on a Friday evening.

Service is consistently efficient and attentive. Staff are friendly without being intrusive, which I appreciate during a business lunch. Dog-friendly policy is a plus, with water bowls readily available. Food is reliably good. Solid spot for a convenient, no-fuss meal.

Great old building, really nice atmosphere. Had a couple of Joules ales, they were spot on. Just what you want for a quiet pint and some decent food.

Been coming here for years, and the Drunken Monk is the reason. It’s just always spot on. I’ll pop in after work, grab a pint at the bar, and it’s exactly what I fancy. That reliable pint keeps me coming back.

Been coming here for years, and the magic show is still a fun little extra. The rest is solid, but that's the bit I keep coming back for.

I had a wonderful experience at the Bristol Pear for a personal event. The venue was well-prepared, and the bar staff were incredibly helpful, ensuring everything went smoothly for our celebration.

Been coming here for years, and it's still the same cozy spot. Always bring the dog, and they never mind. Just a proper, comfortable pub that gets it right.

Nice modern pub vibe inside, really clean and comfy. But the beer garden out back is the real winner. Spent a sunny afternoon there with a pint, just perfect.

Watched the rugby here. The halftime curry was the highlight. Rich, slow-cooked lamb, tender and falling apart. The sauce had a deep, warming spice, not just heat. Went perfectly with a pint.

The steak was cooked just right, a proper medium-rare. Honestly, one of the best I've had in a long while. The wait for it wasn't bad at all.

Got a voucher, so the bill for five of us came in under £60. That covered starters, mains, and desserts. Pretty decent for a family meal out.

Popped in for a pint after work. The band playing tonight was really good, just the right volume for a chat. Staff were quick even though it was busy. Decent spot to unwind.

A power cut during our meal! The staff were calm and kept things going with candles. It was a bit of an adventure, honestly. The food still arrived, and I appreciated that my salad felt fresh despite the flickering light.

Love the rotating taps here. Always find something new. Perfect for a quick pint after work. Selection of cans is huge too.

Had a party here. The staff were so attentive, really made it feel effortless. The space itself has this warm, inviting vibe that just puts everyone at ease.

Valentine's dinner was lovely. The server was really friendly and attentive. Food was cooked perfectly, especially the steak. Just a bit pricey for the portion sizes.

The bartender really went out of his way for us. We were struggling to get a cab after dinner, and he sorted out an Uber on his own phone. Made sure we got in it okay. That kind of service, especially after a couple of great cocktails, is what makes a place stand out.

Simulators are well maintained and the whole experience is really smooth, even when it's busy.
