The lamb shank was the star. Cooked for hours, the meat just fell off the bone. The red wine sauce was rich and deep, but not too heavy. It came with a decent portion of mash. That's what I came for.

Popped in after wandering around town. The Sunday roast was decent, beef was nice and tender. A bit pricey for what it is though.

7 of us at a round table so we were able to talk to everyone in the group. Food good apart from 2 classic breakfasts .missing hashbrowns. Service good.

The beef stew was the standout. Rich, slow-cooked flavour with tender meat that just fell apart. The sauce had a good depth to it, not too salty. Portion was decent. That's what I came for.

Love the vibe here! It's a cafe-bar with music, but feels totally unique. Perfect for catching up with friends over a drink. The playlist was spot on, not too loud to talk. Only thing is the seating is a bit snug, but we made it work.

The Bakewell tart here is a clear step above the supermarket versions. Got the last one around 11am. Butter buns and sourdough were solid too. Arriving early is key if you want the full selection.

The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff and a good variety of well-presented food options.
