Our server Paul was great. Really knew the menu, suggested the pork belly and it was spot on. Made the whole thing easy.

Been coming here for years, and the staff always remember my name. Makes it feel like a proper local spot, even though it's right in the centre. They're just genuinely nice people.

Been coming here for years. It's my go-to spot when I just want to unwind. The pool table is always free, and they've got the footy on the telly. A proper, reliable local.

The staff were really helpful when our takeaway order got mixed up. They remade the dish, no questions asked. The food is good, and they have a decent wine list to go with it.

The steak was well done instead of medium rare, which was a shame. The servers were pleasant and attentive though, even when it was busy.

Lunch for one: the mini haddock and chips were spot on, really fresh. The mushy peas were a nice touch.

Nice little pub. Staff were friendly, felt like a proper local spot. Had the steak and ale pie, really tasty and the portion was huge. Couldn't finish it all. Good for a casual meal.

Solid local spot. Staff really know their stuff, especially the wine list. Food was on point. Good call if you're nearby.

The takeaway arrived in a reusable bag, which was thoughtful. The food was good, but I wish they had some wine pairing suggestions on the menu.

The lamb madras was really good. The banana fritters were a nice crispy touch, though the curry was a bit on the small side.

The bill was a nice surprise. Two of us had three courses and a couple of drinks, and it was still under £70. Felt like a fair deal for what we got.

The chef is clearly skilled. Had the lamb shank last night, it fell off the bone beautifully. The new decor is a nice touch too. A solid spot for a reliable meal.

Lovely little spot. The pistachio ice cream was so creamy and refreshing, really hit the spot on a warm day. The server was so nice, too.

Service was pretty good, Michael was especially attentive. The pizzas are consistently fresh and tasty.

The rabbit dish was a real treat, not something you see everywhere! Perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends. The vibe was just right for a long lunch, not too loud so we could actually hear each other. Prices felt pretty reasonable for what you get.

Grilled sea bass with the artichoke purée was spot on. Simple menu, but everything tastes fresh and well-made. Got my order in and out in under 30 minutes, which is perfect for a quick lunch.

Love the quirky decor here, it really sets the vibe. The mismatched chairs and vintage posters make it feel like a fun, lived-in space. A nice change from the usual minimalist spots.

The Scottish breakfast was cooked perfectly, and they accommodated our substitutions without any fuss.

Service was lovely, really friendly. George in particular was so helpful with the menu, pointing out the lighter options and which dishes used the freshest seasonal produce. Made choosing much easier.

The smashed avocado on sourdough was the highlight for me. You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients. I appreciated that the bacon was optional, so I could keep it simple. The portion was generous, very filling for a weekend brunch.

Great spot in New Town, always buzzing. The walk-in only policy keeps it relaxed. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, but it was fine. Had the steak frites – cooked just right, crispy chips. A solid local choice.

Love that you can BYO here. Popped into the bottle shop round the corner first, grabbed a nice red. Made the whole dinner feel so relaxed and easy. Perfect for a low-key night out.

Friendly spot with a solid craft beer list. Had the fish tacos, they were decent, nothing mind-blowing but hit the spot. Good for a casual pint.
