Welcoming, friendly and excellent service and value for money. Real Italian menu with food quality to a high level. We visited twice in our 7 day visit to Madeira.

We visited this restaurant many times during the last twelve years and it has never failed to impress us with their food, service and friendly manner.

Have been going to this restaurant on and off for many years. On our last trip to Madeira we enjoyed it so much on our first visit particularly the charm and efficiency of the front of house team led by Margarida and the quality of cooking. We went two further times. Our favourite food is Italian and it came as no surprise to learn that the Head Chef is Italian. We tried a variety of dishes all good but the pastas were exceptional. Il Basilico has modern decor , nice lighting ( not too bright) and a relaxed "buzzy" but not loud vibe. We went to other we regarded restaurants during our stay but both my wife and I agree we enjoyed Il Basilico the most which is what it is all about. The only reservation is that the wine list is quite expensive.

Great choice of tasty food options. staff polite and helpful when needing advice on gluten free options. Atmosphere very relaxed. No pressure to rush eating. Decent time between courses.

Fabulous menu, so much choice I need to return. Decent ambience on a busy rainy Monday & staff coped well with everyone and always helpful and pleasant.
