Restaurante Mares

We loved the:FoodService was excellent to the Nth degree.The location and general ambience of the place.Just a wonderful find.We'll back.

It was a warm welcome, i asked an advise and it was realtime good. A fresh Robalo was indeed excellent. We have had a Good diner. Inclusive a Good bottel of wine.

We went on a Sunday evening at 13:00 (local time) there were tons of free tables at the restaurant, they let us choose our table. The place was very nicely setup and welcoming, the service was very nice. We don't talk Portuguese, but they understood Spanish quite well it was easy to comunicate.The food was very nice, we ate fried octupus with mustard sauce, it was very tasty. An amazing Marés Codfish, incredibly good and surprisingly big. And a steak with roquefort, it was good but not the best, the sauce was super yummy.

Nice food fresh and fish in particular was very good both bass and bream. Mushroom starter was very different and tasty and clearly a bit of a house special. Good value for the food served.

Nice restaurant, very sympathetic and efficient crew, good food, but the red wine in « glass » isn’t fine, basic stuff, much to tannic , I have had better here in this formule and if You are the only to drink, déception….
