Date day lunch spot. First of all, the location is fantastic. Service was amazing from the beginning till the end. The menu had many items to choose from. We shared the Vitelo and a fantastic bottle of wine. Chef Filipe & Francisco were informative & friendly. We can’t wait to dine again.

A family operated gem. Should not be missed. Traditional Portuguese dishes, mostly grilled on wood fire. Grilled octopus is fork tender and so fresh it tastes of the sea. Grilled Secreto (pork) is smoky delicious.Staff are delightful, especially the owner.Atmosphere can't be beat. Underneath the aquaduct and beside the monastery.About $75 USD for salad, grilled octopus, grilled beef, bread, olives, empanadas, a bottle of duoro wine and two glasses of port. Way too much food for two but we finished it all.
The food is good, and enough. The veal was nicely cooked. The price is a little high. The service could be better. For instance, no bread was offered. But in the end, it was added to the bill (fortunately that mistake was quickly fixed). There was a birthday party, making the whole ambience too noisy. I suppose that is not the restaurant's fault, but it makes the experience not so good. Will probably be back and give it a second chance.
The quality of the food is excellent, however, we ordered black pork sausage and the dish was served with fries. I was disappointed, as the menu did not indicate this side dish and, considering both the price of the dish and the quality of the product, I expected something more elaborate. At the very least, baked potatoes and a salad. The presentation made me feel like I was eating a snack, which did not match the experience I had imagined.
Very welcoming space, very friendly, concerned and professional staff and very tasty and homemade food. To repeat, without a doubt!
