TheForkUserEverything about this restaurant is perfect. The friendliness of the staff, the ambiance and most of all the food. We focused on the seafood but there was also a nice offering of classic Roman dishes. The grilled octopus, seafood pasta and seafood risotto were among the best meals we’ve had during our 2 weeks in Rome. A must stop if you’re anywhere near Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano but also worth a trip even if you are not.
TheForkUserDon’t miss the opportunity to go to this restaurant, we go when we arrive in Rome and again before we leave, have been doing that for the past 4 years, food is unbelievable and staff couldn’t be nicer. Every time we’re there we talked to others who do the same thing, they all love it but do make a reservation, it’s worth it.J&J
TheForkUserFrom the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm smile and promptly guided to our table. The service was exceptional—our waitress went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten-free needs, double-checking every dish I ordered, even when it was clearly marked on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious. As starters, we had the **Cubotto di Manzo** and the **Fiore di Zucca**. For our mains, we enjoyed the **Bistecca di Manzo** and the **Filetto di Maiale**, both cooked to perfection. Though we skipped dessert, we were treated to local **Cantucci** on the house. Since I couldn’t have them, the waitress thoughtfully sourced **Baci chocolates** for me instead—a small but incredibly thoughtful gesture that truly stood out.
TheForkUserTasty pizza and a great value steps away from the Colossium. Our server was quick and very attentive - in fact the entire staff was great. They could stand to have a second bathroom but other than that, everything was lovely.
TheForkUserExcellent experience. We ordered a la carte and found all the dishes creative and tasty without being precious. Slight downgrade on the service only because our server for the mains did not remember which of us ordered what dish. Otherwise, the service was friendly and helpful.
TheForkUserExcellent location, nice terrace, and great food. The musical entertainment (a lady with a violin) also greatly added to an already wonderful evening. I will certainly come back.
TheForkUserWhat a beautiful little gem of a restaurant so close to the Spanish steps. The food, the waiters, the wine, the atmosphere amazing !!!! Excellent value for money.
TheForkUserWe had two entrees and two mains and all were exceptionally tasty. vellutata di piselli - perfect pea with counterpointsrigatoni alla carbonara - classic and well executeddentice with mussels and fresh escaroleosso bucco with peas and carrotsA close to perfect meal: light but filling.
TheForkUserWe went to Piccolo Arancio for lunch on our 2nd day in Rome and the food and service were so good that we went back for dinner on our last night in Rome. The black truffle pasta, Tonnarelli cacio e pepe, parma ham & melon appetizer and salad esotica were exceptional! If you like wines, they have an extensive list and are very helpful in selecting a wine that matches the meal and your flavor profile. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Rome,
TheForkUserGreat pizza. Given its location near the fountain, I was pleasantly surprised with how good the pizza was. Usually places close to tourist attractions don’t need to try hard on quality and just wave in hungry tourists. This place has excellent pizza in an excellent location.
TheForkUserDelicious food served by an enthusiastic wait staff. It was hot but the misting fans really helped. We had wine and cocktails - all great. The lasagna was the bomb! And the lamb and steak were also big hits at our table.
TheForkUserThis is hands down one of the best restaurants we have been to - it was my daughter’s first night in Rome and we decided to try La Ciambella after seeing a recommendation the Financial Times. Everything was perfect - to the quiet location despite its proximity to the Pantheon, the beautiful open plan dining room and the charming staff led by Mirka who made us feel like a million dollars. We were lucky enough to sit facing the kitchen and received a warm greeting from Francesca the chef. She is a genius and runs a very good kitchen - it was so delightful to watch the bonhomie and good humour amongst the kitchen - hee team clearly love their jobs! The food was incredible - I must recommend the Roman tripe in particular - we tried it at several restaurants thereafter and none came close to Francesca’s. And the quality of the ingredients was first class. We enjoyed La Ciambella so much we have booked our return to Rome in December for a second visit - It was a privilege to eat here.
TheForkUserThe place is very unique and lovely, an extensive collection of wines and drinks, knowledgeable staff, the food was very good, so was the service and waiters.
