La Proa de Teatinos

This was a charming little family restaurant out of the touristy old town of Malaga. The service was welcoming, charming, and personable. The wine list was small but complete with local gems you will not find at duty-free or most wine shops. And the paella was yummy and appropriately portioned. This is the first time my husband and I did not walk away feeling miserably stuffed or guilty for leaving food on the table.

The restaurant was fanstastic! The food was very good, especially the paela. But also the croquettes and the desserts. The service was also excellent. Very attentive waiter with many recommendations and always smiling. Would go eat there anytime again!

This little restaurant is a GREAT find. It’s a little out of the town of Malaga. It’s in a small town. We got a reservation 8:30 which is too early for Spain, we’re from America. Our waiter didn’t try to upsell us. He told us to only order a paella between the two of us. We ordered more. We were stuffed. Their sangria isn’t like American sangria. We asked for dry wine and he made our sangria with no excess sugar and with the least amount of sweetness he could. The food was freaking delicious , and were big food people. The paella so good. Rice al dente. The seafood not overcooked and chewy. The flavors were perfect.

A very cozy place, the food was wonderful but above all, the attention of the staff was excellent. We will definitely be back.
