Been coming here for years. It's always got that lively Bristol vibe, perfect for a quiet pint or a chat with someone new.

Came in for a birthday party. Staff were really patient with a bunch of noisy kids, which was the main thing. The little ones got to help make their own desserts, which they loved.

The weekday set menu is such a good deal. Came here with a few mates and we all got it. The smoked trout starter was lovely, and the cauliflower soup with ginger was so warming. Perfect for a chilled catch-up.

What a wonderful lunch ! Taking our 92 year old aunt for lunch. Debs our waitress was superb - attentive but not intrusive, 10/10 for Debs

The fish & chips were spot on - crispy batter and the fish inside was lovely and moist. A bit pricey for what it is, but the view is fantastic.

We popped in for a family lunch. Russ prepared our meals, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the salad greens were crisp. It's nice to find a place that clearly cares about the quality of their produce.

Been coming here for years. The new look is much brighter and cleaner, which is a nice change. Had the fish and chips today, still as good as ever. Just feels a bit more pleasant to sit in now.

Popped in for lunch. Got the dirty fries with chilli and cheese. Ate them outside with a half Guinness. Messy but good. The old building is pretty cool inside.

Steak and ale pie was decent. But the venison pie... that one really hit the spot. Perfectly seasoned, proper comfort food on a cold day. That's the one to get.

The staff here are just lovely. They even toasted our sandwiches without us asking, which was a really nice touch. It’s that kind of small, thoughtful gesture that makes a difference.

The gluten-free menu here is really well done. Had the French onion soup, which was a nice surprise. Felt relaxed just knowing everything was clearly labelled.

The steak and ale pie is the reason I come here. The pastry is crisp, the filling is rich and the gravy is thick. It's a proper pub classic. The separate dining room is handy if you're in a rush for a show.

Quick table for six despite a booking hiccup. Good service, sorted a food mix-up fast. Perfect for a quick Sunday bite.

Perfect for a quick lunch. Grabbed a pint and a burger, service was fast. Good spot right in the centre. Beer choice is decent, some wines are a bit steep though.

Been coming for years, and that peri peri Vusa sauce is still the star. The vinegar kick just makes everything better.

Food was excellence. Service was quite slow. It was obvious that we would have to wait with only 3 staff dealing the bar, restaurant etc.The number of staff left to cope was not good, but those that were there were very good.I suggest you employ more staff to avoid damaging your very good reputation

Been here a few times now. The pasta is spot on, just like my nonna used to make. Good portions, too. Parking by the water is handy. As a local, it's my go-to for a proper Italian meal.

Been coming here for years on business trips. Always get a seat at the bar, and the bartenders are consistently friendly.

The owner was really honest. We wanted paan after dinner, but he said it wasn't fresh enough to serve that day. I respect that kind of integrity. It makes you trust the place more.

Been coming here for years. The dessert is always the highlight, even if the mains are just okay.

The room was quiet despite the bar downstairs, which I appreciated. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom felt spacious, and the shower had good water pressure. A solid stay for getting proper rest.

Lovely garden with a stream and a play area. Perfect for a family lunch, and they're dog-friendly. A comfortable, relaxing spot.

Food is authentic Italian, well-seasoned and balanced. Had the pasta and risotto, both were solid. Portions are decent for the price. Service was efficient. Good for a business lunch.

The staff were so friendly and attentive, even when it was busy. They brought everything to our table which was lovely.

Always get the eggs here, they’re cooked just right with a nice solid yolk. I appreciate how they handle the bacon substitution for black pudding without any fuss. It’s a simple thing, but knowing the ingredients are fresh makes a difference for a reliable breakfast.

Great spot for dog owners. They let our pup inside and even gave him a free biscuit. The wine list had some nice, easy-drinking options too.

The beer garden is a great spot for a midweek pint. Lots of space, plenty of umbrellas for shade. It really catches the sun in the afternoon, which was perfect for a lazy summer day.
