The fish and chips were solid &mdash; crispy batter, fresh fish, and they didn&rsquo;t skimp on the sauce. Probably the best I&rsquo;ve had in NZ so far.

Sat on the deck for a midweek lunch&mdash;dozen natural oysters and the tuna ceviche. Really fresh, nicely done. Sunset view was a bonus too.

Stumbled on this place and the vibe just hit right. Log burner going, mix of people inside and out, felt like a proper local spot without trying too hard. Didn&rsquo;t want to leave honestly. Just a solid pub atmosphere that&rsquo;s hard to find these days.

What a lovely experience we had last week when calling in for lunch on a grey day.Warm friendly greeting, seated immediately near the fire and somewhere I could be out of the way of others as I was on crutches. A table for two with a seat for my new knee!My partner said the seafood chowder was excellent, my bacon butty on the in-house brioche hit the mark, heaps of perfectly cooked, really tasty bacon and other tasty fillings, minus the fried egg just as requested.The service could not have been better, friendly, great personalities and the chef even shared details of what bacon 🥓 he serves, it&rsquo;s on our shopping list!Spotless bathrooms, restaurant and really lovely warm place to pop into.Thank you to the team who were so helpful, that was my first social outing for 5 weeks and you could not have improved on anything!
