Stopped in for a late lunch. The view of the cathedral from the window seats is a real plus. Food was decent, service was prompt. A solid option if you&#39;re in the area and want a straightforward meal with a nice backdrop.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. The fish finger sandwich was spot on, and the homemade chips were proper crispy. The garlic bread was a whole baguette for a fiver, which is decent.

This is the jewel in the Wetherspoon&rsquo;s crown. If you don&rsquo;t know about Wetherspoon&rsquo;s pubs, restaurants and hotels, they are budget friendly,  no frills establishments many in repurposed banks, shops, high street offices etc. This offering in Exeter is a little different though. The setting, in quite extensive well maintained gardens, is a large old house that used to belong in turn to various professional people. The building has been remodelled and added to over the years. The spectacular cast iron orangery where you can dine from breakfast to dinner time was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the Great Western Railways chief engineer in Victorian times. It was originally part of the main building of Exeter university but was moved here many years ago. Food was up to the usual standard at Wetherspoons and served on the distinctive crockery which was specially designed for the company. My youngest daughter and I ate here several times over a three day trip to view the university. We ate both breakfast and dinner here. I thoroughly recommend having at least a drink or preferably something to eat here if you are in Exeter.☕️ A tip is that your tea, coffee or hot chocolate is bottomless and at the time of writing was only 1.81 GBP per cup.

Cozy place, the decor is really nice. We got the sharing platter to start, then the red Thai curry. Curry had a good depth of flavour, not too sweet. Staff were very attentive, made us feel welcome. A solid spot for a relaxed dinner.

The salmon tikka was the highlight. Good smoky flavour from the tandoor, cooked just right. A solid choice if you&#39;re in the area.

The pub has a great historic feel, really adds to the experience. Sat by the old fireplace with a pint of their Abbot Ale, which was spot on. Just a nice, relaxed place for a drink.
