Classic relaxing/soothing Portuguese Fado playing in the background.Good food for reasonable prices. The portions were good, not too exaggerated. Very good selection of wines. Had an italian Champagne. Deserts are very generous portions. Fast service, with on the spot cooked fresh meals, surprisingly quick.If ever on the area will consider returning.

TheForkUserThe food was amazing, they really know how to grill good meat! The service was also very kind and friendly. As for the ambience, it's hard to judge what it would be like on a "normal day", since when we were there, an important football match was on TV, so it was probably a bit different... but in any case, we felt at home and well looked after! We recommend it!

All the meals were of high quality and the portions we very good. The place was lovely and the service was quick and professional. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

TheForkUserThe staff made it great. Our reservation wasn’t even registered because there was a mixup with communication by the owners and their staff. They didn’t have the fork bookings registered. However, the delightful staff gave my family and I a wonderful table and the food was as fantastic. Having never eaten snails, it was either a one-time thing or to try again. Without a doubt, we will be back! Thank you Tasquinha do Gavetas, especially the staff that saved the evening for us.

TheForkUserFor our second night in this Pousada we enjoyed another excellent meal in the restaurant. The chef da mesa was delightful and very attentive; we were also honoured with a visit to the table by the head chef, from whom we learnt some fascinating things about Portuguese cuisine. Overall a splendid dining experience, highly recommended.
