A decent place for a treat. The portions are generous and everything tasted fresh. Staff were friendly and quick, even on a busy evening. The flavours are pretty good, though a couple of dishes were a touch heavy for me.

The food is consistently good. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender, rich sauce, perfect with the mash. That's what keeps me coming back.

Stopped in for a quick lunch during a work trip. My salad arrived in about 10 minutes, still crisp and fresh. The greens tasted so vibrant, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. It was a quiet afternoon, which let me really focus on the quality of the ingredients. Just what I needed.

The portions are huge, honestly. I could barely finish my pasta. Good value for the quality, though the price felt about right for what you get.

Staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. Good suggestions on both food and drinks. Service was efficient, which I appreciate for a business lunch. No fuss, got the job done.

Been here a few times with mates. The penne vodka with salmon is always spot on - looks great on the table for sharing too. Staff are really polite. It's just a reliable spot for a catch-up.

Found this place by chance. The owner has such a good sense of humour, really made the whole room smile. Just a nice, easy vibe to have a meal in.

Decent pub, nothing fancy. Popped in for a pint and ended up staying for the live band. The music was actually pretty good, a nice surprise for a random Friday night. Drinks are what you'd expect. Might swing by again if they have a band on.

Been to a fair few Spoons, this one's up there. The layout's decent, different levels and a top bit with a sky garden. Food and drink were fine.

The filter coffee here is a bit hit or miss. Had it last week and it was noticeably weaker than usual, lacked that proper punch. Still drinkable, just not their best brew.

The fillet steak is the best in Durham. Ordered it medium rare, and it arrived exactly that way. Tender, good flavour. Prices are fair for what you get.

Took my family for Mother's Day. The young waitress serving us was really lovely, she made sure my mum felt special. That was the nicest part.

Really appreciate the variety of veggie and vegan dishes here. The food was tasty, service was friendly. A nice change of pace.

Nice spot in an old building downtown. I like that you can see the kitchen. The pizza was good, but honestly, for the price, I expected a bit more on the plate.

The 2-for-£25 deal is solid. Had the steak and fish pie last night. Steak was cooked just right, fish pie creamy and hearty. Portions are decent for the price. Food arrived quickly, which was nice as we were pretty hungry.

The balcony view over the river is lovely for a drink. I appreciated that their house lemonade tasted freshly squeezed, not from a bottle.

Georgia was a great server for the bottomless brunch. The food was solid and the value is there.

Been going here for years, it's my local spot. The owners remember your name and always have a minute for a chat. Makes it feel like a proper neighbourhood place.

Been coming here for years with my dog. The fish and chips are always spot on - hot, crispy batter, proper chips. It's the one place I know I can rely on for that. Nice they let him inside too, makes it easy.

The food was piping hot & delicious & really well priced on a 2 or 3 course offer. The staff were lovely & helpful. It’s was a busy Sunday lunchtime but we didn’t feel squeezed in to the next table.

Christmas Eve lunch was nice. The portions were huge, honestly. My main course could have fed two people easily. Good for the price you pay. A bit crowded, but that's expected on the day.

Decent Wetherspoons. Staff were friendly, drinks are cheap. Just what you need for a casual pint, nothing fancy. The place was a bit loud on a Friday night, but that's expected. Solid spot.

Stayed at the Premier Inn nearby, so popped in for breakfast and dinner. The steak was spot on, cooked just right. Breakfast was solid, a proper hearty start. Really handy for the location.

Food was spot on, and the team were lovely. You can tell the place runs like clockwork - everything just felt smooth. Honestly, it's hard to pick a fault.

Loved the vibe here! The decor is so thoughtful, really sets the mood for a relaxed catch-up with friends. We ended up chatting for ages without even noticing.

Lovely old-world pub, really spacious inside. The decor is grand and gives a nice, relaxed feel. I appreciated how clean the loos were, it makes a difference when you're settling in for a meal.

The staff were so kind and accommodating. I had a specific request about the wine pairing for my main, and they took the time to discuss it properly. Made the whole evening feel relaxed and considered. A real plus.
