Great spot for families. Staff were so patient with the kids, which made the whole evening way more relaxed. The lamb bhuna had really good depth of flavour, tender meat and a rich sauce.

A really nice spot for anyone with dietary restrictions. The menu has plenty of options, and I tried the vegan banana loaf cake—it was lovely. The family-run atmosphere makes it feel very welcoming and relaxed.

Staff are quick and friendly. Had a laugh with them during my lunch break. Food came out fast and was spot on. Just what you need for a quick bite.

A nice change from typical pub food. The duck and sweet potato croquette was really good. The place itself is simple and cosy, with lots of cushions. Service was fine, and it was nice to see the kitchen from our table.

A lovely experience for myself and my friend. The setting had a lovely Christmassy feel and backdrop. The choices on the menu were good and the food beautifully presented. The service was just right we were not hurried and the staff were helpful.

The food always tastes fresh, which is what I look for. The salmon salad had crisp greens and the fish was nicely cooked. Portions are generous too.

The owner was so kind and checked on us often. There was some work being done in the kitchen, but they let us know what was happening. The wait was fine. My food was good, just could have been a little warmer when it arrived.

Always grab takeaway from here with mates. Food’s always hot when we pick it up, and the owners are lovely. Never had to wait around for it. Perfect for a quick, easy night in.

The pub itself is gorgeous, really lovely setting. I was pleased to see they had a few lighter options on the menu. The salad I ordered was fresh, with crisp greens and a nice variety of vegetables. No table service, but that was fine for a quick lunch.

The food was lovely, the staff were so nice. It's a cosy spot, and honestly didn't break the bank. We had a really nice time.

Love the old building vibes. Drinks list is decent, had a nice pint. Just a chill spot for a quiet one.

The app's great for finding deals and ordering ahead. Had a bit of a glitch when paying with it this time, but the server was really patient and sorted it out for me right at the table.

The rhubarb cider is very good. Tried it during a quiet weeknight visit. They also do tarot reading events, which is a different touch. Not my usual thing, but it fits the place.

Simple menu, but the food's tasty and prices are fair. It's a proper local spot, always buzzing with friendly faces. Had a decent burger and a pint, just what I needed. Can't fault it for a reliable bite.

The steak and kidney pie was spot on, really good homemade stuff. Ended up having a proper chat with a friendly local bloke about Dover Castle.

Came here twice on holiday. The menu has loads of tasty options, which was great. But I have to say, the portions felt a bit on the small side for the price. Still, enjoyed both evenings.

Fish and chips are cooked fresh, which is good. Portion size is decent for the price. Service was efficient, got my order quickly. Place was clean and tidy. Solid option for a quick, no-fuss meal near the office.

A clean, tidy spot with a proper local feel. The house red was a surprisingly good match for the fish and chips, really brought it together. A real find in Clacton.

The fish and chips were spot on today. Really light, crispy batter that didn't feel heavy at all. The haddock inside was perfectly moist and flaked apart nicely. You can tell it's all cooked fresh to order.

The ice cream selection here is brilliant! Perfect for a quick treat with friends after a stroll.

The 2-for-1 cocktail happy hour is a great deal. They have a massive menu, so you can try something new each time. I like grabbing a seat by the big windows in the evening.

The set menu for two is the way to go here. Portions are huge, you get a bit of everything. The lamb chops were the standout, really well seasoned and tender. Good for a filling meal without breaking the bank.

Decent food and drinks for the price. The safety screens are thorough, but can make it a bit hard to chat with the staff.

Family-friendly spot. Lots of seating inside and out. Saw the cleaner upstairs doing a proper job, place was spotless.

The Amstel was under a fiver, which was a nice touch. Food was decent, nothing fancy but solid. Service was efficient, got the bill quickly. Good spot for a straightforward meal after work.

I like that they don't auto-add service. You can tip what you feel is right.
