The owner was so kind and checked on us often. There was some work being done in the kitchen, but they let us know what was happening. The wait was fine. My food was good, just could have been a little warmer when it arrived.

The pub itself is gorgeous, really lovely setting. I was pleased to see they had a few lighter options on the menu. The salad I ordered was fresh, with crisp greens and a nice variety of vegetables. No table service, but that was fine for a quick lunch.

The food was lovely, the staff were so nice. It's a cosy spot, and honestly didn't break the bank. We had a really nice time.

Love the old building vibes. Drinks list is decent, had a nice pint. Just a chill spot for a quiet one.

The rhubarb cider is very good. Tried it during a quiet weeknight visit. They also do tarot reading events, which is a different touch. Not my usual thing, but it fits the place.

Fish and chips are cooked fresh, which is good. Portion size is decent for the price. Service was efficient, got my order quickly. Place was clean and tidy. Solid option for a quick, no-fuss meal near the office.

A clean, tidy spot with a proper local feel. The house red was a surprisingly good match for the fish and chips, really brought it together. A real find in Clacton.

The fish and chips were spot on today. Really light, crispy batter that didn't feel heavy at all. The haddock inside was perfectly moist and flaked apart nicely. You can tell it's all cooked fresh to order.

The 2-for-1 cocktail happy hour is a great deal. They have a massive menu, so you can try something new each time. I like grabbing a seat by the big windows in the evening.

Decent food and drinks for the price. The safety screens are thorough, but can make it a bit hard to chat with the staff.

Managed to get a table without a booking on a packed night. The menu had some interesting choices. I went for the grilled sea bass – the fillet was incredibly fresh and flaky, cooked just right. Really appreciated that.

The ingredients in the classic dishes tasted really fresh. Portions were generous for a quiet lunch.

The chicken tikka garlic chilli was so good! Just the right amount of garlic and heat. We shared a few plates with friends and it was a great choice for the table. The vibe is relaxed, good for catching up.

Nice bright space, pleasant for a quick lunch. Staff were polite and chatty, which was a nice touch. My main was a bit slow to come out, but they kept us updated. Would pop in again if I'm nearby.

They stayed open late for us during the power cut, which was so kind. The owner made us all a cup of tea while we waited. Really appreciated that.

Nice, relaxed spot. Popped in with a mate for lunch. The modern interior is really chill, not too loud. Good for a casual catch-up.

Popped in for a quick lunch. The staff are genuinely nice, remembered I liked extra chilli oil from last time. Makes a difference. Place was buzzing as usual.

Came here for a Christmas party with a big group. They had everything set up for us beforehand, which made it easy. Staff were really attentive all night.

The chicken tikka masala is always spot on – tender and full of flavour. Portions are generous too.

The chicken and mushrooms in white wine sauce was the highlight. Really enjoyed it in the cosy, low-lit corner booth. Just a nice, relaxed spot for a meal.

Decent pub grub, and the drinks are fairly priced for the area. The house red was a nice surprise with the steak pie.

Oscar and the team are great. Food's always solid. That warm, family feel makes it a go-to spot for me.

Perfect for a quick lunch. Grabbed a coffee and a sandwich, took maybe 5 minutes total. Prices are decent for the high street. Simple spot, does the job when you're in a rush.

The staff here are so lovely. Mo always remembers my name and asks how my week's been. It's a small thing, but it makes popping in for lunch feel so easy and relaxed. A really nice spot.

The jollof rice was the star. The spices were just right, not too heavy. It felt like a warm hug on a plate. The whole place had this really calm, unhurried vibe that I loved. Just a perfect little escape.

Great fish and chips, a bit pricier than others nearby but worth it for the quality. Quick lunch spot.

Ifti and Shab were so welcoming. The Chicken Chat Puri was spot on, spices really came through.

Came here for the match. Screens everywhere, so you can see the game from any table. The vibe was spot on for a group of friends. Food was solid, no complaints. Service was quick, which is key when you're trying to watch and eat.
