I came to Yuanmou Tulin for a visit, but I only stayed for one night and had only one meal, so I definitely wanted to try the local dishes. I checked and it seemed that cold chicken was a local specialty, so I chose it.
I thought it was a small snack bar, but when I got to the door, I found that it was a century-old shop, but the online reviews seemed to be average. It was a bit strange at first, but after eating, I probably understood why. Locals may not use reviews very often, so many of the ratings are from outsiders, but |cold chicken^ tastes like medicine, and it has been in the refrigerator, so the texture is hard and the meat is dry. It is true that outsiders may not be used to it, such as me. To be honest, I can't find any place to praise it. It is too different from Shanghai's white-cut chicken, Hainan's Wenchang chicken, Sichuan's mouth-watering chicken, etc., so if I rate this chicken alone, I'm afraid I can only give it two stars. But seeing that the locals at other tables were still eating with relish, so sometimes food is really a matter of habit and taste, and there is no absolute good or bad.
Except for the disappointment with the chicken, the other dishes were OK. There were many special wild vegetables, which were quite interesting. For example, |Sha Song Jian^ was the first time I saw it, and it tasted quite refreshing. |Liangfen^ tasted pretty good, with two ingredients, but the portion was too large for two people to finish. The best one was |Stinky Tofu Stir-fried with Chrysanthemum^. Although it was called stinky tofu, it actually didn't smell bad at all. The taste was between old tofu and tender tofu, and the Chrysanthemum was tender, which went well with rice.
