Another surprise is that there are so many cats in the Acropolis! They are the only guests who can enter and exit the temple at will. The staff will regularly put cat food for the stray cats.

Although it is a site under restoration, you can still feel the weight of history. The ticket inspector did not immediately recognize the admission voucher. He looked at it for a long time and asked why there was no price displayed. We explained and finally got in.

This is a must-see event of the change of guards every morning at 8 am. This is really a spectacular galore of the past & that is most exciting to foreign visitors. It's normally packed with bus loads of tourists and foreigners alike, so be ready for crowds, all trying to capture the best photo and video angle of the 'guards' change. The guards in full ancient military costumes are really mesmerising!

The location of the Roman market is very unique and is well worth a visit. There are still some traditional arts and crafts shops to visit. It is necessary to experience the Roman culture here. It is best if the market has free visiting hours.

⛰There is a small earthen hill opposite the Acropolis, with an altitude of more than 270 meters, which is the highest point in Athens. The mountain is called Lycabettus Mountain, and it also has a grand abbreviation, "Wolf Mountain". Climbing this mountain, you can have a panoramic view of Athens. However, many people have already overlooked the whole view of Athens from the observation deck of the Acropolis. Perhaps this is the reason why most tourists have given up the idea of ​​going to the Wolf Mountain Observation Deck, and this is why I strongly recommend it. The observation deck of Wolf Mountain is much cuter than the Acropolis Observation Deck. There is no crowding, and you don't need to wait for the couples in front to get tired of standing before vacating the position in front of the railing. And most importantly: it provides an unbeatable night view, while the Acropolis closes at 7 pm. 🚶🏻‍♂️The route to Langshan is very simple. Take the subway to the nearest station to Langshan, and walk along the uphill street for 20 minutes to the cable car at Aristipou Street at the foot of the mountain. The street is very quiet, the road is clean and tidy, and because it is uphill all the way, looking forward has a sense of déjà vu in the dreamland of Inception. When you arrive at the cable car station, the cable car going up the mountain passes through a cave and reaches the top of the mountain in 5 minutes. The round-trip ticket is 7 euros. 🌅The scenery of Langshan is really beautiful. Looking into the distance is the Sea of ​​​​Aegean Sea, which almost made me forget that Athens is also a coastal city. When we first went up the mountain, the sky was still blue, and the sunset had not yet set. We could see the city view of Athens and the sea in the distance. When the sun sets, the setting sun is behind the distant mountains. Even if you can't see the sun, the rosy sunset still covers the city of Athens with a warm golden glow. You can lean on the railing quietly, watching the city slowly light up, looking at this vast land blessed by the gods in the age of the gods, and sighing that the Aegean Sea is still there, and the Crete Island is still there, but the once glorious Greek civilization here is no longer there. Only the protruding stone pillars and dilapidated walls on the Acropolis of Athens silently tell everything that happened here.

Located on the south side of the gate of the Acropolis, it was built in 161 AD by the Greek philosopher Tiberius Claudius Atticus Herodes in the Roman Emperor era in memory of his wife. The main performance venue of the annual Athens Art Festival is here, which is also an eye-opener for the audience who come to watch the performance. The theater is a three-story building with 32 rows of seats that can accommodate up to 6,000 spectators. It is a typical semi-circular open-air theater. The performance on the stage can be clearly seen from any point in the theater. The background of the stage is a Roman window-shaped high wall, and the niches are decorated with statues. The design is very delicate, especially at night, it looks particularly artistic, with that kind of historical heavy feeling.

The Erechtheion is one of the famous buildings in the Acropolis of Athens. It was originally a stone temple where the remains of the eight saints were placed. Legend has it that this was the place where the goddess Athena and the god of the sea Poseidon fought for the position of patron saint of Athens. The Erechtheion is located on an uneven plateau south of the Temple of Erechtheion. It was built between 421 and 405 BC and is a typical representative of the Ionic style in the architecture of the Acropolis of Athens. It was the last important building completed in the plan to rebuild the Acropolis formulated by Pericles. The design is very exquisite. [1] The Erechtheion has three temples, dedicated to the Greek god Zeus, the god of the sea Poseidon, and the god of blacksmiths Hephaestus, respectively. There are two distinctive colonnades connecting them.
