Lake Geneva is located on the border between Switzerland and France, nestled between the Alps in a crescent shape, with approx. 60% of its waters within Switzerland. The lake water is clear and blue, with distant snow-capped mountains reflected in it, forming a typical view of theAlpine region. Numerous views and landmarks are distributed along the lakeshore. Chillon Castle, built on a rock in the lake, has stood for nearly a thousand years and is one of Switzerland's famous medieval buildings, and Byron once wrote a famous long poem about it. The towns along the shore each have their own charm. Geneva blends modern urban vibes with historical heritage, and Montreux is known for its pleasant lakeside climate. Taking a boat cruise on the lake is a classic way to enjoy the panoramic view of Lake Geneva and the scenery on both shores. In summer, you can enjoy water activities such as sailing and kayaking on the lake, while in winter, you can head to the nearbyAlpine regionto ski.Switzerland · Saint-Prex

Old Port of Marseille

4.7/5
277 reviews
The old port area is the center of gravity and the essence of the entire Marseille region, not only because it is the origin of Marseille and was the third largest port in the world 200 years ago, but more importantly, the pure Marseille style can only be seen here. There are many famous monuments around the Old Port, including the castles of Saint John and Saint Nicholas built in the era of Louis XIV. In addition, the old port is also the life and entertainment center of the Maasai people. The area around the Old Port is a famous food district. Most of the restaurants in the port operate a famous Marseille delicacy - "Marseille Fish Soup". The "Old Port" is actually not old. It was rebuilt after the Second World War, but the locals still call it "Old Port". Apart from habit, there should be a historical sentiment in it. Every morning, the fish market here is very lively, and the wharf is full of small fishing boats and boats. The whole harbor is full of the unique leisure atmosphere of southern France. The master plan of the Old Port Mirror View Pavilion was jointly undertaken by FosterPartners and French landscape architect Michel Desvigne. A huge viewing pavilion of 46 × 22 meters, which is like a mirror, was built here. It is supported by 8 thin columns. Since then, the corners of the mirror pavilion have been gradually thinned to reduce the visual weight. The view of the surrounding old port is reflected from the ceiling of the polished stainless steel mirror, as well as the faces of thousands of tourists who stop to watch, creating a strange beauty, which not only provides a place for tourists to stop and shade, but also It allows tourists to become part of the landscape when they enjoy the scenery of the old port.France · Marseille

Palais Longchamp is a historic building complex that combines commemorative significance, architectural artistic value, and public leisure functions, and is also one of the representative urban landmarks of Marseille. The building not only reflects the significant achievements of urban infrastructure construction at that time, but also demonstrates, through its magnificent design, the importance placed on water resources and urban development. It is notable for its central monumental fountain and the buildings on either side: the fountain is decorated with a group of sculptures themed around water sources, agriculture, and natural abundance, with vivid sculptural figures that complement the arcades, colonnades, and ornate building facades, creating a solemn and artistic overall landscape. The two wings of the building house the Museum of Fine Arts of Marseille and the Natural History Museum, respectively, collecting and displaying artworks, natural specimens, and related historical materials, providing visitors with a rich cultural visiting experience.France · Marseille

Geneva Jet d'eau

4.7/5
297 reviews
The Geneva Jet d'eau stands on Lake Geneva, right next to the Jardin Anglais, and is one of Geneva's iconic landmarks. In the 1880s, Geneva's workshops relied on hydraulic power to drive their machinery. When they stopped working at night, the pressure in the pipe network needed to be released, and this water jet was originally designed as a pressure relief valve for this purpose. Because it was so popular with passersby, it was later moved to its current lakeside location and became a formal landmark. Its water jet can reach over 100m, resembling the spout of a giant whale. Hundreds of liters of lake water are propelled into the air at high speed, scattering into a sky full of white mist. Walking along the lakeside promenade, you can feel the cool mist on your face as it drifts with the wind. At night, if you catch it when it is illuminated, it is even more impressive.Switzerland · Geneva

Old Town of Geneva is nestled on the hillside on the south bank of the Rhône River. Its cobblestone streets form the framework, with churches, historic houses, and ancient fountains scattered throughout. The pace is much slower than elsewhere in the city, making it a perfect spot for a stroll to soak in the old-world atmosphere of Geneva. At its highest point stands the Cathedrale Saint-Pierre Geneve, founded in the 12th century and an important witness to the Reformation in Geneva. Climb the narrow stairs inside the tower to the belfry for panoramic views of the layered rooftops and the distant lake and mountains. The former residence and place of birth of the philosopher Rousseau is located along the main thoroughfare. Place du Bourg-de-Four, once a medieval market, is now surrounded by open-air cafes and small restaurants; it is a delightful spot to enjoy a coffee or sample local flavors after a walk. The winding alleys are home to galleries, antique shops, and bistros, where you might discover anything from old European paintings to vintage items from around the world—browsing for souvenirs while exploring is a delight. For history enthusiasts, the Maison Tavel is a must-visit; this ancient residence documents centuries of local life. Secret medieval passages still remain underground, adding a touch of intrigue to your stroll.Switzerland · Geneva

Lake Geneva, which shares the same name as the city, is very vast, with a sapphire-like color and sparkling in the sun. From Geneva Airport, you can take a train to Nyon, a small town on the shore of Lake Geneva. The hotel rooms there are large, and the lake view rooms also have terraces to enjoy the lake view. The breakfast is very rich and cost-effective. From the dock in Nyon, you can take a boat to the French flower town opposite and experience the fun of crossing two countries in half an hour. The price of the flower town is lower than that of Switzerland, and it is very pleasant to enjoy authentic French food there.

The Old Port of Marseille is the most vibrant part of the city. The fish market bustles in the morning, cafes are filled with sunbathers in the afternoon, and yacht masts sway in the sunset at dusk. Old buildings line both sides of the port, alongside modern restaurants, and paving stones commemorate World War II. You don't need to specifically seek out tourist attractions; just stroll around, watch the ships, feel the sea breeze, or enjoy a bowl of bouillabaisse by the dock, and you'll experience the city's lively atmosphere.

It can be described as a beautiful flower town that has fallen into the mortal world. The buildings in the old town are all made of stone, so it is also called the Stone City. In the spring when flowers bloom, the stone walls, porches and window frames are surrounded by various flowers, and the blue sky and clear water are set off, just like a colorful oil painting.

The old town still has its own flavor. The old streets, leisurely people, and busy business elites are all mixed together. There is no sense of disobedience in the same space. The feeling of Europe is really good. It is worth a visit.

Roussillon is a historic region in southwestern France, nestled in the northern foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains. Historically part of Catalonia, it roughly corresponds to the present-day Occitanie department of the Occitanie region, with the Aude department often included within its boundaries. The area is characterized by its unique red clay cliffs, formed by the rich ochre-rich soils of the surrounding area, displaying shades of yellow, orange, and red. Many of the village's buildings are constructed using locally sourced red and yellow clay, earning it the nickname "Red Cities." Local legends tell of the origin of the red clay and a love story. In 1659, the Treaty of the Pyrenees between France and Spain ceded Roussillon to France. The region was renowned for its ochre deposits, and artisanal mining flourished from the late 18th century, with ochre pigments exported worldwide. By the late 20th century, due to soil erosion caused by long-term mining, the area was designated a national nature reserve, prohibiting industrial mining. Roussillon is also a wine region, producing geographically designated wines such as Côtes du Roussillon. The wine industry in this region is managed by relevant industry associations, and in 2011, the Chinese translation of the region's wines was "露喜龙" (Lu Xi Long). Since the early 1980s, tourism has gradually replaced mining.
