Siofok Water Tower
Siofok Water Tower is located in the main square of Siofok, in the Lake Balaton region of Hungary, and is a recognizable landmark of this lakeside town. When it was built, the water tower served the core function of supplying water to the entire city, witnessing Siofok's transformation from a village into a resort destination. During the war, this concrete structure was damaged, but it was repaired and put back into use in 1946, continuing its original function until 1973 when the water supply system was upgraded. After undergoing several renovations, it was refurbished and reborn in 2012, becoming a venue that combines sightseeing, leisure, and cultural exhibitions. It features a panoramic elevator that goes directly to a rotating observation deck at a height of 45m, offering a 360-degree view of Lake Balaton and the town. In the afternoon, we visited Hevíz, a renowned place with the world's second largest thermal lake—a tranquil and beautiful place. Initially, I thought it would be a simple soak in the hot springs, but upon arrival, I was truly captivated by its serenity and lush beauty. We enjoyed the therapeutic effects of the hot springs, strolled through the town in the evening, and finally had a sumptuous Western-style buffet—a truly fulfilling day.
