Pantheon

The Pantheon, located in the heart of Rome, is one of the best-preserved ancient Roman buildings and is still used as a church. It was originally built over two thousand years ago by Agrippa, the son-in-law of Octavian, the first Roman emperor, to worship the gods. The existing structure is a reconstruction on the original site during the reign of Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD, and Agrippa's inscription is still preserved above the lintel. The building's proportions are exquisite, leading Michelangelo to praise it as "the design of angels." In front of the temple lies Rotonda Square, where an Egyptian obelisk stands in the fountain, providing a prime vantage point for capturing a panoramic view of the building's facade. The main structure is simple and clear: a massive cylinder, over forty meters wide and high, topped with a hemispherical concrete dome. The temple has no windows; all light comes from a circular opening over eight meters in diameter at the center of the dome—on sunny days, sunlight streams through the opening in a beam that slowly sweeps across the niches and stone walls as the sun moves; on rainy days, rainwater falls directly into the temple and drains away through hidden drains in the floor. The construction of such a span dome in an era without reinforced concrete has inspired architects for over a thousand years. The niches surrounding the hall, originally dedicated to the gods, now house statues and altars: the Renaissance master Raphael is buried here, as are the tombs of Kings Victor Emmanuel II and Umberto I of Italy. Take a moment to linger, look up at the light streaming down from the dome, and examine the statues and tombs closely along the niches, experiencing the awe-inspiring power of this building that has been so well preserved for nearly two millennia.Italy · Rome

•This was the place where gladiators fought for their lives, prisoners on death row struggled with hungry lions, and it was also the great symbol of eternal Rome •Take in the magnificent architecture and imagine epic battles that once took place here •Imagine the bustle of the marketplace, the intrigue of political debates, and the opulence of imperial residences △ The Colosseum was built on the site of the magnificent Dumus Aurea and was completed in 80 AD. But with the decline of the Roman Empire in the 6th century AD, the Colosseum was gradually abandoned and became overgrown. Since then, the Colosseum has been damaged by earthquakes many times, and it has even become a source of stone and marble for builders. Nowadays, only the incomplete skeleton of the Colosseum is left in front of people, but you can still get a glimpse of the style of that day. △ From the outside, the Colosseum has four floors (including the underground). On the first floor, you can clearly see the maze-like building in the center of the Colosseum. The basements that were once the Colosseum housed the beasts and gladiators who were about to duel. If you want to see the underground part up close, you need to be led by a tour guide. △ The entire exterior wall of the Colosseum is made of limestone, with 80 arches (vormitori) on each floor, allowing spectators to quickly enter and take their seats. The recesses on the second and third floors were once filled with marble statues. The top of the wall is dotted with windows and slender Corinthian pilasters, and there are 240 wall columns to support the canvas canopy covering the Colosseum.Italy · Rome

The Fort Sant'Angelo was originally a family cemetery built by Emperor Hadrian. It was later converted into a papal fortress in the 6th century AD. It is said that in 590 AD, Pope Gregory saw an angel in the sky above the fort and named it the Holy Angel. Fort. Castel Sant'Angelo, located on the Tiber River, at the western end of the ancient Roman region, there are several bridges leading to the west bank of the Tiber River, the more important one is the bridge to the Castel Sant'Angelo (PonteSantaAngelo). When walking through the Pont Sant'Angelo, you may wish to take a closer look at the shape of the bridge and the various exquisite carvings on it. The bridge designed by Bernini can be said to be a masterpiece of Baroque decorative art, but only two of the angel statues on the bridge are made of The statue, sculpted by Bernini himself, has been moved to the church of Santa Adreadelle Fratte for proper preservation, and two replicas have been placed on the bridge. The history of Castel Sant'Angelo in the 2nd century AD, the Roman emperor Hadrian designed the Castel Sant'Angelo and personally directed its construction as the resting place for himself and his successors. Over the centuries, Castel Sant'Angelo has undergone a number of changes: first as a fortress to stop the Visigoths and Ostrogoths from invading, then as a prison, and later converted into a splendid papal palace. Now as a museum, in addition to the collection of stuccoes, frescoes and the residence furniture of the Pope, ancient weapons are also an important and precious collection here.Italy · Rome

The Roman Forum was built in the 7th century BC and is one of the oldest among Rome's many forums. Originally an Etruscan burial ground, it later became the center of law, administration, commerce, and religion in ancient Rome. Main attractions The main attractions include the Curia, Lapis Niger, Millarium Aureum, Rostrum, and Casa delle Vestali. Square history After the 4th century AD, the Roman Forum gradually lost its significance and was even used as pastureland. It wasn't until the 18th century that systematic excavation and preservation of the forum ruins began, a project that continues to this day. Visiting guide The Roman Forum is bordered by the Colosseum to the east, Palatine Hill to the south, and Capitoline Hill to the north. It has three entrances located at the Lupa Capitolina statue on Via dei Fori Imperiali, the Sacred Way (Via Sacra) opposite the Colosseum, and Via Foro Romano. When you first see the Roman Forum, you might think it's just a pile of marble blocks and ruins. But with a little patience and attention, you'll discover layers of profound history everywhere, making it truly worth exploring. East side of the square On the eastern side of the Roman Forum, you can admire the ruins of the Basilica of Maxentius (also known as the Basilica of Constantine), the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, the Temple of Divus Julius, the Basilica Aemilia, the Curia, the Lapis Niger, and the remains of the ancient Roman Rostrum. West side of the square After visiting the buildings on the eastern side of the Roman Forum, you can retrace your steps along the Via Sacra to admire the scenery on the western side. Here, you can see the remaining foundation of the Basilica Julia and the ruins of the Temple of Castor and Pollux. To the right of the Basilica Julia, there is a gap leading to the Cloaca Maxima, the ancient Roman sewer. At the end of the path is the fenced-off Santa Maria Antigua, which houses exquisite murals dating back to the 7th and 8th centuries.Italy · Rome

It has beautiful appearance, rich decoration and strong three-dimensional effect. The whole fountain is magnificent, magnificent and clear. The legend about the girl actually means "Trevi" which means a fork in the road, which happened to be a fork in the earlier period. According to legend, in 19 BC, a Roman technician deliberately introduced water into this area from 13 kilometers away in order to help a young girl. The Fountain Thematic Fountain was built in the palace of the Marquis of Polly and was completed in 1762 after 30 years. The theme is the triumphant return of Neptune, the god of the sea. Standing on the seashell-shaped chariot in the middle is Neptune. The two horses pulling the chariot are pulled by two Tritons (the messengers of the sea in Greek mythology). and calm. There is a goddess on the left and right of the sea god, representing abundance and health. It's alright. If you've already visited all the other major Italian attractions, you can check it out. I don't really understand their religious beliefs or stories, but the scenery is quite nice, and you can see the city views.

One extra suggestion for visiting the Trevi Fountain is to spend a bit of time in the surrounding streets, not just the fountain itself. The small alleys around Piazza di Trevi are full of cafés, gelato shops, and quieter viewpoints where you can see the fountain from above without the main crowd. Also, try to visit twice if possible: once early morning for photos and once at night for atmosphere. The lighting completely changes the feeling of the place. Another useful tip is to stand slightly off to the side rather than directly in front of the central barrier, as it gives a better angle for photos and avoids the heaviest crowd flow. Finally, keep in mind it is a historic monument, so respecting the space helps keep the experience pleasant for everyone. The photo was taken at the Trevi Fountain, located in the historic center of Rome.It sits in a small square (Piazza di Trevi), surrounded by narrow streets and classic Roman buildings. The closest major landmark is the Pantheon area, about 10–15 minutes walking distance away. From Piazza Venezia, you can reach it on foot in about 10 minutes by walking through Via del Corso and then turning into the smaller side streets toward the fountain. The exact address is Piazza di Trevi, 00187 Roma RM, Italy. The photo was likely taken right in front of the main fountain basin, where the Neptune sculpture and cascading water are visible, which is the most common viewpoint for visitors.
