Qizi Bay

Qizi Bay is backed by Changhua Ridge to the east and faces the sea to the west, with a coastline that winds in an S-shape, curving like a crescent moon. It is characterized by abundant stones, white sand, and calm waves, featuring both fine, soft, white sandy beaches and rocky coasts with rugged, craggy reefs. Colorful pebbles resembling chess pieces are scattered among the reefs, which is how it got its name. The coast here is not just a single, straight sandy beach, but rather a mix of different landforms like sandy shores and rocky coasts, where you can see a relatively complete natural coastal environment. Because it is located on the west coast of Hainan, the sunset view is also a prominent natural feature here. In the evening, the sea, reefs, and sky display different colors as the light changes.Changjiang · 37.5km from downtown

Changjiang Huangdi Cave is nestled against the mountains and by the water. It is a large limestone karst cave formed primarily by long-term erosion from groundwater, and it remains warm in winter and cool in summer. The cave entrance is located right by the Nanyao River. Viewed from a distance, it resembles a large water buffalo with its mouth open. The cave is approx. 60m wide, 130m deep, and 25m high, with an area of approx. 7,800 square meters. The cave hall is arched, flat, and spacious, capable of accommodating tens of thousands of people. Inside the cave, winding paths meander, swallows fly about, and the stalactites are colorful and varied. Visitors walking through it will find it full of interest. To the southeast of the cave, there is a 90m-long natural stone formation featuring a throne with a stone figure sitting on it, flanked by stone guards. This scene resembles an emperor ascending the throne, which is why this cave is named "Changjiang Huangdi Cave." Behind the stone formation is the "Imperial Palace." At the entrance, there are three horizontal stones that look like hanging colorful brocades, and behind the door stands a stone pillar carved with dragons and phoenixes. On the palace ceiling, there is a skylight-like opening that is 2m long and 1.5m wide. Light shines through it, making the cave dazzling. You can climb the stone steps to reach the top of the cave through the skylight to view the surrounding mountains, rice paddies, and Li ethnic villages.Changjiang · 38.5km from downtown

It borders Wulie Town in the east, faces Dongfang City across Changhua River in the south, Beibu Gulf in the west, and Haiwei Town in the north. It is praised by foreign experts as "the 10,000-mu desert falls into Hainan" Qiziwan, with its unique "big corner of the bay", "sailing stone", "sea sacrifice stone" and "chess piece basket" , "Ten Thousand Beach" and other natural landscapes, attracting many tourists at home and abroad. Far from the mature scenic spots, here is a quiet and laid-back town. It is the only resident gathering place and living material supply point in Qiziwan Scenic Area. It is a fishing port by the sea. The building has the characteristics of a fishing port. You can taste cheap and delicious seafood. You can walk to the beach by the sea for a few minutes.Changjiang · 39.1km from downtown

Atlantis Sanya

Atlantis Sanya is located in Haitang Bay, Sanya. Inspired by the mystery of the lost continent of Atlantis, it integrates a water park, aquarium, marine animal interactions, and resident performances into one ocean-themed family-friendly destination, ideal for spending several days to fully experience. Atlantis water world is the highlight of the day: climb the towering Poseidon tower for thrilling plunges down slides like "leap of faith" and "drop slide," while the "shark encounter" slide winds through a shark pool tunnel with glass walls separating you from the sharks. The park also features a rushing rafting river and a children's water play area, ensuring fun for the whole family. The lost chambers aquarium centers around the ambassador lagoon. Standing in front of the giant transparent wall over 10 m high, visitors can watch tens of thousands of marine creatures swimming in schools, beluga whales leisurely waving their tails in the water. The mermaid show and fish feeding from the transparent-bottomed crystal boat are also quite popular. The adjacent dolphin island is an open-air habitat for dolphins and sea lions, where visitors can choose interactive programs by age to get close to these marine creatures. In the evening, the long-running C show performs at the dolphin bay theater, featuring aquatic stunts and lighting effects on a three-dimensional stage, which is the reason many families specifically stay for. The itinerary suggests enjoying the water park during the day and visiting the aquarium or watching performances in the evening for a more relaxed pace and to avoid the midday sun.China · Sanya

Ancient Changhua City is the county seat of ancient Changhua County. It is located in the west coast of Changjiang County, more than 50 kilometers away from Shilu Town, Changjiang County. The original site is located in Changcheng Village, Changcheng Township. The ancient Changhua city was built in the Ming Hongwu period. During the Yongle period, Changhua County was disturbed by Japanese pirates. Changhua County was built with stone and brick walls, with a circumference of two and a half kilometers, a height of six meters and a thickness of five meters. In the tenth year of Ming Zhengtong (AD 1445), Zhou Zhen, the magistrate of Changhua, excavated a five-foot-wide trench near the outer wall of the city, thus forming a solid city defense system. Later, due to hurricanes and typhoons, the city wall was damaged and repaired several times. The existing city wall is square, with a perimeter of 2 kilometers. There are remnants of city bricks on the wall, and the remains of the trench are clearly visible. The ancient city of Changhua is surrounded by mountains and sea, with gorgeous scenery. 2 kilometers southeast of the city are the famous tourist attractions Changhua Ridge and Qizi Bay. There are also Zhao Ding (a famous official in the Song Dynasty) Yiguan Tomb, Zhiping Temple Stele, and Nanmen Garden Tomb. Group, Junling Five Temple Ruins and other historic sites. "Righteous Woman Yujiao" There is a moving story of "Righteous Woman Yujiao" in the ancient Changhua City area. It is said that at the end of the Ming Dynasty, the city of Changhua suffered from drought for several years, but the county magistrate at that time occupied the few wells in the city. The new county magistrate took his wife Yujiao to Changhua by sea, but was unfortunately killed by a pirate shark cat on the way. Shark took office as the magistrate of Changhua and took Yujiao as a concubine. Yujiao wrote a letter to the brother of the governor of Ren Huxianggui to inform him of the matter. After his brother received the letter, he immediately dispatched 5,000 troops to eliminate the shark cat and all the thieves. In order to realize her husband's last wish and relieve the suffering of people's livelihood, Yujiao organized people to dig 36 wells, benefiting the people of one party.Changjiang · 37.8km from downtown

Tianya Haijiao

Tianya Haijiao is located at the western end of Sanya Bay and is a highly recognizable coastal attraction in Sanya. The long stretch of beach is dotted with massive rocks, among which two boulders inscribed with "Tianya" and "Haijiao" are regarded as symbols of love and a must-visit spot for many. During the Yongzheng era of the Qing Dynasty, Cheng Zhe, the magistrate of Yazhou, inscribed "Tianya" on a coastal boulder. In the Republican era, Wang Yi, commander of the Qiongya garrison, inscribed "Haijiao" on an adjacent boulder, giving the attraction its name. After the song "Please come to Tianya Haijiao" became popular across the country, "accompanying you to Tianya Haijiao" became a widely circulated romantic promise, and this is where the "Tianya complex" finds its embodiment. In addition to these two famous stones, the cliffside inscriptions offer many other highlights: the "Haipan Nantian" inscription commissioned by an imperial envoy during the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty predates the "Tianya" inscription; the "Tianya Haijiao" inscription by Fan Yunti, the magistrate of Yazhou during the Xuantong era of the Qing Dynasty, once appeared on the back of the 2-yuan note in the fourth series of RMB and is thus also called the "wealth stone"; the "sun and moon stones" standing in the nearby waters, two interlocking stones with heart-shaped outlines, are known as the "love stones" and can usually be admired and photographed from the beach. When visiting, you can walk along the coast from the entrance to the stone carvings, passing by the celebrity sculpture garden, love square, and couple tree, where the couple tree is a popular photo spot. Every winter, the Tianya Haijiao international wedding festival is held as scheduled, often with couples making vows by the sea. The "Tianya stone" attracts crowds, so you may need to wait briefly to photograph its front. The "Haijiao stone" is closer to the waterline—getting near the waves for a shot offers a more expansive view.China · Sanya

Luhuitou Scenic Area

Luhuitou Scenic Area is located on Luhuitou Peninsula in the southwest of Sanya, with five peaks of varying sizes and an altitude of 181 m. The park is surrounded by the sea on three sides and borders the urban area of Sanya on one side, making it an ideal spot for overlooking the sea, watching sunrises and sunsets, and enjoying a panoramic view of Sanya. In 1994, Luhuitou Scenic Area was rated as a scenic attraction. In 2017, it was awarded the title of a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The celestial deer turns its head, love exists in the mortal world—the love mountain of the South Sea A Li youth hunter, wearing a red headband and carrying a bow and arrows, chased a muntjac from the hinterland of Hainan Island's Wuzhi Mountain across ninety-nine mountains and ninety-nine rivers to the shore of the South Sea. Facing the vast ocean beneath the cliff ahead, the muntjac had nowhere to run. As the youth hunter drew his bow, a flash of fire and rising smoke suddenly appeared—the muntjac turned its head and transformed into a beautiful Li maiden. The two fell in love and became a devoted couple. This mountain thus came to be known as "the deer turns its head," becoming a love mountain where youth pledge their vows. Main attraction "Luhuitou" "Do not say the five rams dominate Yuexiu, for romance pales before the deer turning its head." The deer turning its head sculpture is the work of Lin Yuhao, a renowned Chinese sculptor. The statue stands 15 m tall, 10 m long, and 9 m wide, carved from over 170 pieces of marble over five years. Sanya city is also nicknamed "Deer City" because of it. Other works from the same period include the Nanjing Yuhuatai sculpture, the Sanya Xiaodongtian Jianzhen eastward voyage group sculpture, and the Guangzhou five rams sculpture. Love mountain oath alliance – the world of love culture The love-themed attraction cluster, composed of attractions such as the "Love" cliff carving, "Eternal union," "Ocean and mountain vows," "Heart-locking bridge," "Couple trees," "Immortal deer tree," "Unwavering rock," and "Mountain vow stele," highlights the theme of love permeating every mountain, every sight, and every heart with emotion. The Tianya Haijiao International Wedding Festival, now in its sixth edition, draws couples from home and abroad every November to make their ocean and mountain vows, pledge eternal union, and pray for a century of harmony and happiness. Sacred mountain blessings - Li ethnic "fu" culture corridor The Li ethnic folk culture corridor, composed of elements such as "peaceful and auspicious trees," "eternal love," "sacrificial ceremony scenes," "blessing spirit motifs," "harvest scenes," "ancestor worship depictions," "wedding celebration illustrations," "dragon and phoenix symbolizing prosperity," and "frog deity statues," creates an atmosphere where the entire mountain is filled with auspiciousness, the whole garden radiates peace, and every heart overflows with happiness. Mirage - night view of love mountain "Like pearls cast by celestial hands, shimmering lights dance on water's strands. A mirage looms in twilight's hue, as night winds soothe with gentle view." In recent years, the park has introduced artistic night lighting and laser animation performances, featuring displays such as "aerial roses," "city lights," "moving head lights," "aerial cannons," and "strobe lights," along with 3D laser animations showcasing the park's enchanting love legends, screened every weekend at 8 p.m. At night, colorful lights transform Sanya's sky into a fairy-tale realm, while Luhuitou appears as a mirage floating above the city's sea of lights. Urban charm—Beiting scenic view The commanding height to overlook the panoramic view of Sanya, an ideal spot to ascend for sea views and sunrise/sunset watching. At the farthest gaze, the sea and sky merge into a vast expanse with scattered sails, showcasing the coastal scenery and charm in full view. Mountains, sea, city, and river are all within sight. At night, the mountain glows with brilliant lights while the city below twinkles with countless household lamps, offering a breathtaking view of Sanya's beautiful nightscape that delights the heart and refreshes the mind. Blessings fill the mountain—auspicious aura from the east The park's sunrise viewing spot offers a breathtaking vantage point where one can gaze into the distance as the crimson sun emerges. The vast sea stretches hazily beneath clouds aglow with morning hues, enveloped in an auspicious purple mist. The large and small Donghai bays converge here like two horns, gathering spiritual energy and blessings. This is the pinnacle of "happiness as immense as the Eastern Sea," a place where fortune accumulates, featuring a dedicated wishing platform. Renowned Chinese calligrapher and painter Mr. Wangshan inscribed a dedication for this site. Immortal traces forever stay—wanderings to the ends of the earth "Wanderings to the ends of the earth" was inscribed by Mr. Lai Shaoqi, one of the few survivors of the Shangrao concentration camp. During his visit to Sanya, he reflected on his life, having endured countless hardships in this lifetime. After leaving the concentration camp, he ascended Luhuitou and felt as if reborn. Having traversed the ends of the earth, it was like stepping into a heavenly paradise. He called himself an immortal, uniquely blessed to dwell in this fairyland, leaving behind "Wanderings to the ends of the earth" to express his celestial journey.China · Sanya

A hidden gem on Hainan's western coast, Qizi Bay boasts stunning scenery and fewer crowds, perfect for a slow-paced vacation. I've always felt that Hainan's western coast possesses a rugged, unspoiled beauty, and Qizi Bay is a prime example. Compared to the hustle and bustle of Sanya, it feels like a tranquil paradise. 🌊 About the seascape: The water at Qizi Bay is crystal clear, a deep turquoise. The sand is incredibly fine, feeling wonderful underfoot. The most unique feature is the diverse rock formations, perfect for taking photos. If you visit in the evening, the sunset is absolutely breathtaking, turning the sky into a sea of orange – truly a stunning sight. 📍 About location: Located in Changjiang Li Autonomous County, it's a relatively less-visited bay in Hainan. While transportation isn't as convenient as in Sanya, this is precisely its charm – preserving its pristine natural beauty. It's also a filming location for the sixth season of the popular Taiwanese variety show "Back to Field" (Shayutang Village is nearby), allowing you to see many familiar scenes. 💡 Travel Tips: It's recommended to drive or rent an electric scooter for easier exploration of the surrounding area. If you come in summer, remember to wear sunscreen; if it's winter (like in January where I am now), the sea breeze can be quite strong, so a windproof jacket is highly recommended. In summary: If you prefer a quiet place with fewer crowds and the sound of the waves, Qizi Bay will definitely not disappoint you.

Huangdi Cave is located in Changjiang, Hainan, about 20km away from Bawangling, with a rugged mountain road. Huangdi Cave has two huge karst caves, which are relics of the Neolithic Age. Huangdi Cave is a free attraction suitable for self-driving tours. There are various stalactites in the cave, some of which are shaped like stone lions and some are shaped like Guanyin. About 2km from Huangdi Cave, you can reach the Ten-mile Gallery Observation Deck to see the towering rock walls and the quiet river water. This is the upper reaches of the Changhua River, and below is the Daguangba Reservoir.

There is the Changhua Ancient Temple, Xiaojiao Bay and other good spots for watching the sunset. The dried fish here are very big, and the seafood restaurants here are more expensive than those in big cities. Of course, this is also a feature of most areas in Hainan. ! Accommodation is not expensive.

Hainan Changjiang Haiwei National Wetland Park is located in the Shigangtang Wetland of Haiwei Town in Changjiang Li Autonomous County, Hainan Province, with a total area of more than 300 hectares. Hainan Changjiang Haiwei National Wetland Park can be divided into two categories: artificial wetlands and swamp wetlands, and three types of wetlands: reservoir wetlands, shrub swamps, and herbaceous swamp wetlands. It is the natural "urban kidney" of Changjiang Li Autonomous County. It has large areas of wetlands, grasslands, beaches, mangrove conservation areas, bird habitats and coastal defense forests. Its landform types are plains and coastal beach landforms. There are 196 species of vascular plants in 79 families, 164 genera in Hainan Changjiang Haiwei National Wetland Park. Among them, the national second-level protected plants are water ferns and Dalbergia odorifera. There are 94 species of wild vertebrates in 16 orders, 40 families, and 9 species of national second-level wild protected animals. I visited Hainan Changjiang Haiwei Wetland Park a few years ago. There are patches of swamps, lush aquatic plants, and beautiful scenery of dancing water birds in the park. Now Haiwei Wetland Park has been upgraded to a national wetland park. When I visited it again, it was closed and entry was prohibited. I could only look for wild scenery outside the park.

The Atlantis Aquarium in Sanya is absolutely stunning! The enormous Lost Chambers aquarium makes you feel like you're in an underwater world, with over 86,000 marine creatures swimming in 13,500 tons of natural seawater. The beluga whale interaction is incredibly therapeutic, the jellyfish area is dreamy and beautiful, and every shot in the underwater tunnel is a masterpiece. It's definitely worth the ticket price for a family trip; you can learn something new and experience the wonders of the ocean. Highly recommended!
