Sangdangsanseong was a mountain fortress built in Sanseong-dong during the Joseon Dynasty. It was built as a tongseong during the Three Kingdoms Period, and there is a theory that it was built as an earthen fortress during the Baekje Dynasty and then rebuilt by Kim Seo-hyeon, the third son of Silla general Kim Yu-sin, and another theory that it was built by Gung Ye. It is said that it occupied a very important position in the Korean Peninsula historically and played an important military role in defending the Hoseo region during the Joseon Dynasty. Sangdangsanseong had three gates in the east, west, and south and two secret gates.

It is famous for being the presidential villa. It is a beautiful place in the fall when the leaves change color, and is one of the driving courses in Chungcheong Province. The Cheongnamdae Jazz Festival is also held in the fall.

This is a relaxing space located in the heart of the city. The walking path along the tranquil lake is incredibly peaceful, and the lush green lawn is perfect for a leisurely picnic. Especially at night, the night view reflected in the lake is pure romance. I highly recommend this as an outing spot to completely wash away the fatigue of daily life!

National Museum of Contemporary Art, Cheongju 국립현대미술관 청주

This was originally an old tobacco factory, and the original site was rebuilt into an art museum. It is the first art museum in South Korea that opens its collection warehouse for the public to enjoy.
It can bring art closer to people's lives, and it can also allow people to understand the hidden functions of art museums and get close to them, even close to them.
The collections are classified into categories on the first to fourth floors, and the fifth floor is a temporary venue where periodic art exhibitions are often held. There is also a library on the third floor, which can be used as a temporary resting place during visits.
