Siargao Island

Siargao Island

5.0/5
2 reviews
Siargao Island is located in the Philippine Sea, northeast of Mindanao, and belongs to the province of Surigao del Norte. The island is teardrop-shaped, with an area of approx. 438 sq km and a population of over 20,000. The terrain is relatively flat, surrounded by white sand beaches and coral reefs, with dense coconut groves and a network of rivers. The climate is warm and humid, with abundant sunshine year-round and heavy rainfall during the rainy season. Its coastline is winding, with fine, soft sand beaches and crystal-clear water that reveals rock formations and tide pools at low tide. Mangroves are distributed along the rivers, creating a rich ecosystem. Inland, rows of palm trees line both sides of the coconut road, extending for several km, with leaves swaying in the wind like rolling waves. Offshore islands such as Guyam Island, Daku Island, and Naked Island are connected by sandbars and teeming with coral, forming colorful underwater gardens. This place blends land and sea scenery with changing views throughout the seasons. Whether hiking, enjoying the water, or quietly watching the sunset, you can experience the laid-back charm of a tropical island.Pilar · 8.6km from Del Carmen

Sugba Lagoon is an absolute must do. If you are traveling solo or as a couple its beat to find other people to share a boat with. The ride from the port to the lagoon is about 20-30 mins but try views on the way are incredible. Once you arrive you are welcomed by friendly locals and the most breathtaking views. Take the instagrammable pic at the top of the diving board before taking a leap into the cool water. You can hire a kayak and explore the lagoon at your leisure. There are two sides so be sure to go around both sides. This is definitely worth the time.
