Nalin Lake is located in the Nalintaohai Farm of Bayannaoer Nongken in the northeast of Ulan Buhe Desert, about 40 kilometers away from Dengkou County, Bayannaoer City. The lake has an irregular half-moon shape and a depth of up to 6 meters. It is one of the largest freshwater lakes and important wetlands in Northwest my country. It is also the main breeding ground and migration place for birds. There are vast clouds of smoke here, and the speedboat is flying on the lake. There are green reeds swinging everywhere, green mountains and green waters, which complement each other, making people feel as if they are in the beautiful realm of nature. There are more than 10 large and small islands and 8 amusement bays in the lake, with pleasant scenery, and more than 100 species of migratory birds grow and breed here. There are also lush reeds growing in the lake, and there are 10,000 mu of fertile fields with six agricultural branches around the lake, where the famous "Nalin Brand" melons are produced. And the song with the theme of Nalin Lake, "I'm Waiting for You at Nalin Lake" has a moving melody and was sung by Huslan singers. The lyrics first describe the beautiful scene of Nalin Lake, the hometown. At the same time, it also writes the author's thoughts for his lover. It is a slightly sad song. Tourists can take a boat tour of the lake here, enjoy the scenery on large and small islands, watch migratory birds fly, and fish play, and there will be a feeling of returning to nature and returning to nature.Dengkou · 38.2km from downtown

Agui Temple is located in the Langshan Mountains within the territory of Shajintaohai Sumu, Dengkou County. It is situated in a valley west of the ancient Han Dynasty city of Jilu Fortress and is a temple of the Red Sect of Lamaism in the Inner Mongolia region. Agui Temple was built in the 3rd year of the Guangxu reign of Emperor Dezong of the Qing Dynasty (1877). Its Tibetan name is "Laxirenbu Gadinglin Agui." During the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed "Zongsheng Temple," and in 1912, a large plaque inscribed in Manchu, Mongolian, Tibetan, and Chinese was hung there. The temple was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution and later restored, though it is far from its former appearance. Agui Temple is built against the mountain and facing the water, featuring typical Tibetan-style architecture. The temple complex consists of 981 rooms, including the Mahavira Hall and auxiliary halls, along with 13 guesthouses and over 1,000 residences for lamas. A plaque reading "Zongsheng Temple" is mounted on the door of the South Main Hall. Inside the hall, a statue of Sakyamuni is enshrined. The auxiliary halls house the statues of the Red Sect's principal deities, Daburen and Shengxiang. There are many auxiliary structures around Agui Temple: five unique natural caves—Agui Cave, Zhaga Shengbu Cave, Dari Eke Cave, E'erdengzhu Cave, and Sangbu Garibu Cave—all of which have become places for Buddhist activities.Dengkou · 69.9km from downtown

The rock paintings of Yinshan Mountain are widely distributed, diverse in content and exquisite in art among the rock paintings discovered in my country so far. They are the treasure house of rock paintings in my country. Most of the existing Yinshan rock paintings are distributed in the Bayannaoer area, which truly records the production and life history of the ancient northern nomads such as the Xiongnu, Chile, Rouran, Xianbei, and Mongolia who lived here. Five Tigers is the representative work of Yinshan rock painting. Yinshan rock paintings are mostly found on the Montenegro of Dilihari Mountain in the south of Urad Middle Banner, extending more than 5 kilometers from east to west. In this place alone, there are more than 1,000 rock paintings. There are also a large number of rock paintings on the southern slope and top of the mountain not far from the northeast of Dilihari Mountain, which are adjacent to the rock paintings of Dilihari Mountain, forming a rock art distribution area. In Wayaogou North Mountain, about 8 kilometers southwest of Dilihari Mountain, there is a rock painting every 2 to 10 meters or a little further, with a total of more than 900 pieces. Secondly, on the black rocks in the Beituolingou Mountains of Dengkou County, there is usually a rock painting at a distance of 2 to 3 meters, with a distance of no more than 10 meters, and the total number is more than 500.Dengkou · 65.1km from downtown

The Western Xia Mausoleum Museum houses a rich collection of artifacts from the dynasty, including many precious stone carvings with Tangut script and murals showcasing Western Xia artistic styles. The museum offers free guides that provide fascinating insights into the customs, culture, rise, and fall of this mysterious dynasty, enhancing visitors' experience when exploring the mausoleum. On July 11, 2025, the Western Xia Mausoleum was officially inscribed on the World Heritage List. You can visit the Haowang Mausoleum up close within the attraction. The Western Xia Mausoleum Museum inside the attraction has been newly unveiled. The exhibits are divided into six sections: history of Western Xia, Western Xia culture, Western Xia religious art, Western Xia socio-economy, Western Xia Mausoleum, and preservation & inheritance. Nearly 5,000 artifacts are displayed, including thangka paintings, documents, clay sculptures, bronze and ironware, textiles, and porcelain. When I first came to Agui Temple, I had a question in my mind: how was this place built? There were no roads in the past, so how were they built? It is indeed a temple located deep in the mountains, and it is quite new, but I heard from the locals that it has existed for a long time.

The scenic spot is small and in its original state, but it is authentic. There are no crowds, and you can quietly feel the border war 1900 years ago. You can get there directly by navigation. Take the "Wuwu Line". The county road is newly built, with few cars. It runs along the southern slope of Yinshan Mountain and the scenery is beautiful. Follow the signs on the road and go through the village to get directly to the Gaotai simple parking lot. If the navigation tells you to enter the canyon, go 500 meters deep and it is on the west bank of the canyon.

"Chi Le Chuan, under the Yinshan Mountains, the sky is like a firmament, covering the four fields. The sky is vast, the fields are vast, the wind blows the grass low and you can see cattle and sheep." "If only the flying general of Longcheng was there, the Hu horses would not be allowed to cross the Yinshan Mountains." The Yinshan Mountains are east-west oriented and are ancient block mountains. They are about 1,200 kilometers long, and the main peak, Huhebashig, is 2,364 meters above sea level. Most of the mountains are composed of ancient metamorphic rocks, and sedimentary rocks are distributed in the fault basin. The Bayan Obo on the north slope is rich in polymetallic ores and rare earth metals. The Yinshan Mountains are the northern boundary of China's monsoon and non-monsoon zones, and belong to the transition zone between temperate semi-arid and arid climates. The Langshan Mountains in the west are particularly dry, and the Daqing Mountains are relatively humid. The south of the mountain is an agricultural area, the north of the mountain is a pastoral area, and the mountainous area is an interlaced area of agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry. More than 10,000 rock paintings in Yinshan have been discovered since the Northern Wei Dynasty. They are not only the earliest rock paintings discovered in the world, but also one of the richest rock paintings in the world, and the largest rock painting treasure house in China. Most of the existing Yinshan rock paintings are distributed in the Bayannur area, which truly records the production and life history of the ancient northern nomadic peoples such as the Xiongnu, Chile, Rouran, Xianbei, and Mongolia who lived here. The Five Tigers Picture is a representative work of Yinshan rock paintings. In addition to animal paintings and hunting paintings, grazing paintings also account for a large proportion. They were produced in the late Bronze Age and continued to the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Although the ages are far apart, their contents are generally similar. There are also several celestial rock paintings, which are also rare in the world's rock paintings. Strategy: Seasonal cost: June-early October. Free. Transportation and accommodation: Located in Urad Rear Banner under the jurisdiction of Bayannur City, route: 717 County Road, Bayannur (1.5 hours)-Yinshan Rock Paintings (0.5 hours)-Gaojue Sai (0.5 hours, with yurt accommodation)-Jilusai (0.5 hours)-Agui Temple (0.6 hours)-Western Dream Canyon. Scenery: The whole tour takes about 30 minutes. There are giant rock paintings, cattle, horses, people, and dogs in a 1:1 ratio, and they have certain artistic value. The Danxia and Yadan landform canyons on the right are 1 kilometer long, majestic and magnificent. The scenic area is quite large, divided into two sand islands. Access is by cable car, and the aerial view of the desert is quite impressive. There are many amusement facilities inside, offering a great experience. Although it was a holiday, it wasn't too crowded, so overall it was a good place. Allow plenty of time; exploring both islands will take at least five to six hours.

It's quite famous, being a filming location for movies like "A Chinese Odyssey" and "Red Sorghum," and the film sets have a strong sense of Northwest China's rugged landscape, making it a good place for movie fans to take photos. However, the overall experience is just average. The park has many dirt roads, is windy and dusty, and sunny. Aside from taking photos, there's not much to see or do. If you're not particularly attached to the movies, don't have too high expectations.

The Helan Mountains are majestic and magnificent, with ancient and mysterious rock paintings. However, many patterns are not very well weathered, so a guided tour would greatly enhance the experience. A leisurely stroll through the entire area takes about two hours, and overall it's a good experience. I highly recommend visiting this place when in Yinchuan.
