Suzhou Classical Gardens, also known as "Suzhou Gardens," is the collective term for classical Chinese gardens located in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. These gardens trace their origins back to the Spring and Autumn period, developed during the Jin and Tang dynasties, flourished in the Song dynasties, and reached their peak during the Ming and Qing dynasties. [1] Suzhou has long been renowned as the "City of Gardens," with private gardens dating back to the 6th century BC. By the late Qing dynasty, there were over 170 gardens within and around the city, of which more than 50 remain today.
