Tianmen Fox Fairy: The New Liu Hai and the Golden Fox is a grand open-air musical spectacle based on the Hunan folk legend Liu Hai and the Golden Fox. Directed by Mei Shuaiyuan, the pioneer of China's real-scene performances, and with renowned global composer Tan Dun as the music director, the show premiered on September 17, 2009. Set against the natural backdrop of Tianmen Mountain's canyon in Zhangjiajie, it features a massive 10,000-square-meter glass-reinforced stage (built with a 120 million RMB investment) and a cast of over 500 performers, delivering a breathtaking audio-visual experience.

Touching Storyline: The tale follows the love between woodcutter Liu Hai and a thousand-year-old fox spirit, transcending the boundaries between human and spirit. Divided into five acts—Fox King Selects a Bride, Mountain Encounter, Moonlit Longing, Storm of Betrayal, and A Millennium's Wait—it is deeply emotional and moving.
Ethnic Cultural Elements: Infused with Tujia folk songs, dances, and traditions of western Hunan, such as Sangzhi folk music and Huagu opera, showcasing rich local cultural flavors.
World-Class Stage: Boasts the world's largest panoramic glass-reinforced stage, equipped with 1,100 large-scale lights, a 60-meter retractable bridge, and other cutting-edge facilities.
