The activity which I actually booked had to be cancelled because of a large bushfire in the vicinity. The company offered everyone either a full refund or a substitute activity - which I think most people accepted. The staff and guides made sure that everyone was kitted out appropriately and provided any additional items they thought we would need. The guides were excellent - kept everyone safe, were extremely capable, supportive and encouraging, helpful and interesting.★

We adjusted our itinerary due to weather, but thankfully it cleared up the day we left Queenstown.
The experience was unique, landing on a snowy mountaintop. The pilot was fantastic, and most importantly, it saved us a lot of time.
However, the weather in the South Island can be unpredictable, so if you choose the helicopter option, I recommend staying in Queenstown for a few days.
