Getting up early is worth it: You're rewarded with the sunrise at Uluru, which bathes the rock in spectacular light. Besides a hot drink and a biscuit, the tips for the best view were helpful; I was almost alone, able to listen to the birds, simply because a small tree was in my field of vision. Afterwards, we went to the gorge at Kata Tjuta. There were snacks for everyone, even though the hike only took about an hour. For those interested, our guide Alex pointed out interesting features. A good tour for a first impression. Booking in advance is recommended.

I took the sunset tour in the afternoon. There were a lot of Japanese people there, which was a relief, but unfortunately it was an English tour, so I couldn't understand a word they were saying. There were an incredible amount of flies, so I recommend bringing a fly net at the very least.


