We were only a small group of four people, probably because the weather forecast wasn't good. Our friendly guide, Federico, took us to Rifugio Sapienza in a minibus and led us on a leisurely hike to about 2000 meters. He had lots of interesting things to tell us about Mount Etna and the history of its eruptions, and patiently answered all our questions. The wind was too strong for the summit route that day. The rain held off until we were back at the car. 👍 Afterwards, we visited a winery with a small tasting and the opportunity to buy some wine, and finally, a lava cave. All in all, a very successful day trip! 👍
