The tour ladies were fun, knowledgeable and sweet. The driver was kind as well. The weather was freezing but we had a great day.

Our first stop with the MS Lady Diletta was Amsterdam, a very beautiful city with its narrow streets and canals. A canal cruise is a must; it costs €14.50 per person and lasts an hour. You can also go up the Adam Tower and swing for €7.50 per person. Or you can visit Madame Tussauds; admission is €23.50 per person. Just across the way is the National Monument, a large square but nothing particularly special. Also recommended are the Van Gogh Museum and the Schreierstoren, an old defensive tower not far from the train station and harbor.

Our guide was wonderful. So knowledgeable and enthusiastic in explaining the history of Dutch colonialism and politics. He gave us insightful explanations into how this aspect of Dutch history shaped the world. It was great to hear a different aspect of the history of The Netherlands.
