
▲ Shirakawa-go Gassho Village Shirakawa-go is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its iconic "gassho-zukuri" houses feature steep thatched roofs resembling hands in prayer, a unique architectural structure designed to withstand heavy winter snowfall. The Ogimachi village in Shirakawa-go has the largest number of households among the three villages registered as World Heritage Sites. The village retains its traditional rural landscape and the spirit of mutual assistance known as "yui-no-kokoro."

▲ Hidakochi Takayama Located in the northern part of Gifu Prefecture at the heart of the Hida region, Takayama's city center preserves the complete form of a castle town and merchant district dating back to the Edo period, earning it the nickname "Little Kyoto of Hida." Visitors can stroll through the "Sanmachi" district built during the Meiji and Taisho eras, savor local delicacies like Hida beef and Takayama ramen, and admire the exquisite craftsmanship of Hida's master artisans.

▲ Miyagawa Morning Market One of Japan's three major morning markets. The market is held along the Miyagawa River and in front of the Takayama Jinya. With approximately 60 stalls, it offers a variety of goods including fresh vegetables, fruits, sauces, snacks, and handicrafts.
