This was one of the best tours my partner and I have taken. Nao was an exceptional tour guide. He reviewed our plan for the day when we met up, and it sounded excellent. We drove to the ferry and took it across to the island. The Visitor Center was quite informative. The foot bath was an unexpected bonus. Seeing the dormant side of the volcano was cool - seeing the active side was unbelievable! Especially when there was a small eruption. Nao provided detailed explanations every step of the way. He took us around the back side of the island, and back to the ferry. We stopped for lunch at an excellent restaurant for Japanese BBQ, and headed to a panoramic viewing spot. Nao even helped us shop as he was able to act as a translator for us. I highly recommend this tour!

Masa (I hope that I’m saying his name right) was an AMAZING guide!! We got to stop and see the beautiful waterfall, he took us to 7/11 for snacks, and then the onsen itself was amazing! It was so fun to learn about the Kirishima and Kagoshima culture while driving around too. This tour was off the beaten path and truly felt like a unique one in a lifetime experience!!! I can’t recommend it enough!

I loved that we got to go by public transport. Our guide spoke excellent English, was extremely knowledgeable & even kindly escorted us back to the shuttle bus stop at end of tour. She even brought cooling neck wraps as it was a very hot day. Above & beyond.
