The most worthwhile part of Tallinn is its Old Town. It's somewhat like Prague or Český Krumlov, with red rooftops adorned with numerous Gothic spires—reportedly over 60 in total. The ancient city walls, cobblestone streets, and diverse architectural styles transport you to a medieval transportation hub and trading center. Our English-speaking guide was excellent—knowledgeable and detailed. Without a guide, we would have likely wasted a lot of time and missed many sights. Therefore, if it's your first time in Tallinn, having a local guide is essential.

Reviews: Iconic Old Town Tallinn: Guided Walking Tour

What a Wonderful Experience was our day with Orhan. Incomparable. His willingness and knowledge of the city were immeasurable. Orhan met and dropped of back off at the Cruise ship pier, and conducted the most interesting tour of Tallinn. As a former Soviet Satellite's capital, this was a very interesting place for us Westerners to be. Being in our late 70s, our need for measured pacing was evident, and Orhan did everything he could to accommodate us, while not giving short shrift to any of the beauties nor historically significant sites. Orhan was so warm and welcoming, we were absolutely at out ease, and couldn't have enjoyed the tours more. An extraordinary treat we enjoyed was the opportunity to see and dine at Restaurant Munga Kelder, an out of the limelight establishment, all the staff in costume, the menu reflecting the era of the restaurant (Monk's Cellar). Had Orhan not shown us, we should never have found it. All in, this tour, this guide, were spectacular. Thak you Orhan!
