Tai Hu Yuantouzhu Scenic Spot is a peninsula in northern Lake Tai, named for its resemblance to a turtle raising its head. Here you can explore expansive garden complexes, cruise across Lake Tai's misty waters, discover hidden wonders on Taihu Fairy Island, or admire cherry blossoms in spring - truly experiencing why it's called "the finest spot of Lake Tai".Tai Hu Yuantouzhu Scenic Spotthe artistic conception. Every spring, the spectacular cherry blossom display becomes a major attraction here, complemented by the lively cherry blossom festival. Tai Hu Yuantouzhu Scenic Spot in Wuxi is surrounded by water on three sides, offering both the natural beauty of vast lakes dotted with sailing boats and the idyllic charm of rural landscapes with small bridges and flowing streams. It showcases the most breathtaking scenery of Taihu Lake. Taihu Fairy Island isTai Hu Yuantouzhu Scenic SpotMust-experience highlights include the Taoist celestial palace and grotto statues blending Taoist and Buddhist elements. Ascending Luding Mountain on the peninsula offers panoramic views of the lakeside greenery, with graceful boat silhouettes visible on sunny days, showcasing Taihu Lake's vast beauty. As a premier cherry blossom destination, Tai Hu Yuantouzhu Scenic Spot offers two unique experiences: first, a "land-water-air" panoramic viewing approach, and second, enchanting night blossoms illuminated by artistic lighting. The early cherry blossoms here typically bloom in early March, featuring mostly single or semi-double petals. Blossoms are categorized by season - early varieties last about one week from first bloom to petal fall, while late varieties bloom for 7–10 days. Temperature variations create 5–12 day gaps between these phases, when hybrid varieties flourish. The iconic Somei Yoshino cherries usually reach peak bloom in mid-to-late March (optimal viewing period), though exact timing depends on weather conditions - cold snaps may delay this floral spectacle. Summer is the perfect time to admire beautiful lotus blossoms. Tai Hu Yuantouzhu Scenic Spot in Wuxi features numerous historical sites and private gardens built by former elites, including Hengyun Villa with its "Finest Spot of Tai Lake" archway and Changchun Bridge, as well as Wuxi's ancient temples.Guangfu TempleMoreover, savoring the traces left by literati and artists throughout history—such as inscriptions, calligraphy, and paintings scattered throughout the site—adds another layer to your visit.Tai Hu Yuantouzhu Scenic SpotOne of the great pleasures here. If time permits, don't miss Wanlang Bridge - it's the perfect spot to catch a stunning sunset over Lake Tai. The Chongshan Gate (main entrance, located in the southeast of the attraction) at Tai Hu Yuantouzhu Scenic Spot in Wuxi serves as both entrance and exit, while the Dushan Gate (northern section) is exit-only. The attraction primarily consists of Yuantouzhu Peninsula and Taihu Fairy Island.Zhongdu MountainIt consists of multiple attractions, which typically take a full day to explore. For most visitors, we recommend the highlights tour:Cruise pier- Taihu Fairy Island - The Finest Scenery of Taihu Lake - Hengyun Villa -Spring Tides at Turtle Head-Guangfu Temple- Luding Hill.Wuxi · 10km from downtown

Nianhua Bay

Nianhua Bay is located in Mashan National Scenic Area, Binhu district, Wuxi, renowned for its "pure sky, pure land and pure water" reputation with beautiful ecology and superior environment. The attraction is nestled between mountains and lakes, adjacent to the Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot, blessed with natural and cultural essence, featuring lush greenery and magnificent scenery. The attraction, centered around traditional Chinese Zen culture, presents a cultural tourism town embodying Tang and Song dynasty aesthetics. It serves as a holistic Chinese spiritual retreat destination integrating leisure, vacation, entertainment, and wellness with profound oriental cultural significance. The serene "Sun-kissed hillside," vibrant "Floral moon street," romantic "Buddha blossom fields," waterside "Misty sails among trees (wetland)," eco-conscious "Nianhua Bay - Deer valley," and the immersive Zen performance throughout the town collectively form a Zen-inspired cultural landscape blending humanistic charm with recreational appeal. The attraction embodies the philosophy of "living well," promoting a simple, joyful, and healthy lifestyle. Through immersive experiences like "eating well" and "sleeping well," visitors can escape urban chaos amidst mountains, waters, and the Zen-inspired Nianhua Bay, reconnecting with nature to rejuvenate mind and soul. 1. Nianhua Lake "crossing the river on a reed": A dazzling and graceful Zen realm – derived from the Zen Buddhist story "crossing the river on a reed." Though a leaf is small, it may block one's sight; though a reed is light, it can sometimes bear immeasurable weight. Crossing the river on a reed relies on something small yet carries something great. The Zen realm may seem as distant as mountains and rivers, but with the heart's direction, a reed can cross. Through the performance form of water curtain dance, combined with technological means such as sound, lighting, and projections, an ethereal scene of flowing water with radiant colors and myriad atmospheres is created. Amidst the beautiful dance and graceful Zen realm, experience the exquisite Zen meaning of "holding up a flower and smiling," creating a spiritual feast of Zen cultural experience. 2. Nianhua pagoda "lighting ceremony": Listen to Zen music, feel the evening breeze, as the Nianhua pagoda lights up, bringing joy and tranquility. The lighting symbolizes "the universal illumination of compassion." The pagoda lights up layer by layer, exquisitely beautiful and dazzling, with auspicious light shining in all directions, bringing blessings and happiness. Below the pagoda, eight Zen practitioners perform a dance, while six celestial maidens dance gracefully atop the pagoda, scattering petals. Combined with colorful projections, the scene unfolds with elegance and grace, creating a magnificent spectacle of celebration and harmony. 3. Wudeng Lake "five petals bloom": Water washes pure lotus, Zen delights the mundane heart – the concept originates from the Zen Buddhist idiom "one flower blooms five petals, and the fruit naturally forms." One flower: After Buddhism was introduced to China, Bodhidharma became the patriarch of Zen Buddhism; five petals: the five schools of Zen Buddhism that developed and evolved (Weiyang, Linji, Yunmen, Fayan, and Caodong). It implies that if you do good deeds, don't ask about the future, and act with kindness, the results will naturally follow. The performance presents the theme with a solo dance within a blooming five-petal lotus, combined with various expressive means such as lighting, projections, and musical fountains, creating a fast-paced, powerful water show that stirs the audience's emotions and makes their hearts pound. 4. Weixiao Square "holding up a flower and smiling": Centered on the story of "flower language asking Zen" between Buddha and Mahakasyapa, this is the final climactic chapter of the "Zen Journey" performance, showcasing the relationship between flowers, people, and Zen, and the beauty of Zen joy. It is a 360° immersive experience space integrating dynamic art sculptures, light and shadow music, drones, and actor performances. The core view is a large dynamic sculpture, approx. 18m high, creatively designed by internationally renowned sculptor Tamara. The dynamic sculpture transforms and combines, while 600 drones form various beautiful patterns, shining in the tranquil night sky, allowing visitors to experience the Zen realm of holding up a flower in a 360° dream space, feeling peace of mind and joyful freedom. 5. Nianhua Bay AI tower tech light show: Another classic masterpiece of the attraction, where flying eaves and bracket sets narrate architectural charm, and a thousand-drone fireworks display delivers a dazzling light spectacle. When the tower top mirrors the stars and fireworks bloom in sequence, Eastern aesthetics merge with technology, bringing AI into tangible reality at this very moment. 6. Nianhua Bay - Deer valley forest fun park: A 20,000 m² forest wonderland built upon pristine woodland, this integrated theme park combines leisure, family-friendly activities, nature exploration and water play. Featuring five themed zones - Hey Blue oasis pop-up park, Deer plaza rest area, treehouse café, Deer valley fun park and jungle adventure - it merges technology with nature to create innovative cooling experiences.Wuxi · 27.3km from downtown

Huishan Ancient Town is situated to the north of Xihui park in Wuxi, and is made up of many old ancestral halls. Construction of the cluster of ancestral halls began in the Tang dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Most of the ones we see now are Qing dynasty ancestral halls. More than 80 family names are represented in these ancestral halls, so it's worth visiting and finding about your ancestors. Moreover, Wuxi clay figurines from the town make good souvenirs, and the local food is also worth trying. In addition, Huishan Ancient Town is encircled by a north-south horizontal street and an east-west vertical street. At the eastern end of the vertical street, there is a large screen wall on which four big Chinese characters saying "Huishan Ancient Town" are inscribed.Wuxi · 2.8km from downtown

Li Garden

Li Lake, formerly known as Wuli Lake, is an inland lake in the northeast of Taihu Lake. Li Garden, which extends into Li Lake, is an old park in Wuxi. It has a Jiangnan garden style and is famous for its waterscape. Narrow embankments, small bridges and corridors are built on the water. Peach blossoms are in full bloom in March and April, and lotus flowers are in full bloom from June to September, making it like a water garden. From 1927 to 1936, Liyuan was built on the basis of the original eight scenic spots of Qingqi by the Li Lake, and was later expanded several times. According to legend, Fan Li and Xi Shi retired to Taihu Lake in the Spring and Autumn Period and went boating here. Most of the buildings in the park are based on Fan Li and Xi Shi. Come here to see love and exquisiteness. Entering the gate of Liyuan, to the left is a group of rockery. Don't go there first, go there after you walk around. Go south to the direction of Baihua Mountain House to the Four Seasons Pavilion. The Four Seasons Pavilion refers to a pavilion on each of the four sides of a pond. Plum blossoms are planted next to the Spring Pavilion, oleanders are planted next to the Summer Pavilion, osmanthus is planted next to the Autumn Pavilion, and wintersweets are planted next to the Winter Pavilion. There is a large lawn to the north of the Four Seasons Pavilion. It is very pleasant to sit on the lawn, chat with three or four friends, or have a picnic. Continue walking south to the long embankment "Nan Di Chun Xiao" on Li Lake. This is a good place to enjoy flowers in spring. There is a row of weeping willows on the embankment, and the willow branches sway in the wind. There are many peach trees planted between the willows. There are many varieties of peach blossoms, and different colors of peach blossoms can bloom on a peach tree. There are also pear blossoms and cherry blossoms. The petals blown down are spread on the lake, like a tin embroidery with clusters of flowers. In the southwest corner of Nan Di Chun Xiao, there is a pavilion overlooking the lake called "Yue Bo Ping Tiao". Xishi Village is a small island built artificially on the south side of Li Lake. Along the stone road by the water, you can walk around the island. There are many scenic spots named after Fan Li and Xi Shi scattered along the road. In Tao Zhu Mansion, there are pictures and texts introducing Fan Li's life of helping King Gou Jian of Yue to defeat the State of Wu and his business life after retirement. There is a super large abacus in the Hall of the Merchants, which is very interesting. You have to use both hands to pull the beads to move them. Xishi Garden is decorated with Xishi's embroidery workshop, boudoir, and study, and displays tin embroidery exhibits. There are also scenic spots such as the Spring and Autumn Stage on the island. Take a boat back to Nandi Chunxiao, and walk northeast to Qianbu Corridor. This is an old building in Liyuan, straddling Lihu Lake, with a wall on one side and water on the other. The 80 hollow flower windows on the wall have different patterns and are very exquisite. At the east end of Qianbu Corridor is the "Qinghong Yanlu" Pavilion in the center of the lake. The Ningchun Tower across the water from the pavilion is made of red bricks and green tiles. It is small and has a strong color contrast. It is one of the landmark buildings of Liyuan. In the eastern area of Liyuan, you can see the Ferris wheel of Lihu Park in the east relatively closely. With Liyuan as the foreground and the Ferris wheel as the background, the photos taken are very artistic. Then we walked northwest to Chunqiu Pavilion, which is still in the eastern area. The pavilion has three floors and is a tall building in Liyuan. There is a teahouse upstairs where you can drink tea while overlooking the beautiful scenery of Lihu Lake. Finally, we returned to the rockery group. A large area of Taihu stones were stacked to form various peaks, all named after the word "cloud", such as Yunwo, Yunjiao, Chuanyun, etc. Among them, Guiyun Peak is the commanding height, 12 meters high. Entering the rockery group is like entering a maze, and you can also climb up the rockery to play. Liyuan is relatively close to Yuantouzhu to the west, and many tourists will arrange to visit Yuantouzhu and Liyuan in one day.Wuxi · 7.9km from downtown

Yaohu Town is located in Yixing, Jiangsu Province, which was formerly known as Yangxian. Located on the southern slope of Lushan Mountain in the western suburbs of Wuxi, Mei Garden is a private garden built in 1912. Every year from February to March, thousands of plum blossoms in the scenic area bloom together. The seas of flowers across the mountains attract countless photography enthusiasts. Coming slightly later than the plum blossoms period, the tulips are in full bloom at the end of March to April, when a tulip exhibition will be held at the scenic spot. In addition, desert plants can be viewed in the ornamental greenhouse located in the Garden Expo Park. If you don't come here in spring, you can come here to enjoy the lotus in summer and smell the sweetly fragrant osmanthus in autumn. The town nestled at the foot of the Lingshan Grand Buddha is breathtakingly beautiful in spring, like something out of a fairytale. There's also a lighting ceremony in the evening. It's recommended to enter the park in the afternoon, watch the performance in the evening, and leave completely satisfied.

This last-minute hotel booking perfectly met all my needs: excellent cleanliness, attentive service, and a superb location. I'll definitely book this hotel every time I visit this city; I won't choose another one. The smart home control system was incredibly convenient; I could adjust the lighting and curtains without getting up. The housekeeping staff even tidied up our messy charging cables while cleaning. A perfect stay; I'll definitely book again. The location is amazing—a three-minute walk to the subway station, making it convenient to go anywhere. The breakfast selection was more varied than expected, and the local specialties were authentic and very satisfying. The bedding was soft and fluffy, ensuring a great night's sleep. The front desk service was incredibly attentive; they offered warm lemon water upon arrival. The soundproofing was far superior to other hotels in the same price range; even facing the street, we couldn't hear any noise, allowing us to sleep soundly. Traveling with elderly relatives and children, the staff thoughtfully arranged a room on a lower floor and even lent the children non-slip slippers—such thoughtful details! Before check-in, we received detailed directions from the staff, including a list of nearby restaurants and shopping spots, so we didn't need to do any planning ourselves. The receptionist proactively upgraded us to a river-view room; opening the window revealed a shimmering river view – a truly delightful surprise. The bathroom had a well-designed wet and dry separation, and the hot water came out quickly with good pressure, so showering in winter wasn't freezing at all. The room was spotless, with no dust in any corners, which was very reassuring. There's a 24-hour convenience store downstairs, and it's close to a popular food street, so shopping and dining are effortless and convenient. The value for money exceeded our expectations; for around 100 RMB, the experience was far better than many hotels I've stayed in that cost 300-400 RMB.

The sightseeing bus tour, stopping at each station, was quite enjoyable. I spent an unforgettable day at Lingshan Sacred Land: the gushing holy water from the Nine Dragons Bathing the Buddha was awe-inspiring; touching the Buddha's feet brought a sense of peace and allowed me to pray for safety; the magnificent Brahma Palace was a harmonious blend of art and faith; and the koi swimming in the pond added a touch of vibrancy. A truly worthwhile trip, highly recommended!

I traveled during the National Day holiday. The area is large, but it didn't feel overly crowded. I could walk around at my own pace, and the performances were quite good. The climb wasn't tiring at all; I feel like someone who walks a lot doesn't need a sightseeing bus.

Although this is a modern garden, the gardens of Jiangnan are always full of charm. The artificial hills meander and the corridors wind and twist, making a stroll through them a leisurely and comfortable experience. The boat trip lasts nearly 20 minutes, and from the windows, you can see the shimmering lake surface.

There were too many people during the holidays. It's quite a large place to walk around. I couldn't get on the mini train because the queue was at least 2 hours long. The fireworks show and light fountain at night were pretty good, and the performances in the public square were also quite nice.

Nanchang Street is more beautiful at night than during the day. The lanterns are lit, and the old houses along the canal are reflected in the water. The street is lined with restaurants and small shops, and some alleys are quieter. You can watch the boats go back and forth on the bridge and hear the sounds of Suzhou storytelling drifting from the teahouses. There are many street food stalls; try the magnolia cakes and plum blossom cakes. The street is lively but not too noisy, perfect for an evening stroll after dinner.

This must be the culture and commerce that gradually formed along the banks of the canal. The total length is several kilometers, but I only walked less than a kilometer. Various small shops line the canal, and you can also see elderly people who run small businesses on their own property. It's best to go at night when the atmosphere is nice.

In 1955, it was donated to the nation free of charge by Rong Yiren. The garden contains well-preserved historical sites such as Songbin Hall (Nanmu Hall), Nianqu Pagoda, and Lenong Villa. In 2006, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
