It was renamed Jingshan in the 12th year of the Shunzhi era of the Qing Dynasty (1655).Looking down to the south from the top of the mountain, the yellow lapis lazuli tile roofs of the Forbidden Palace towers line up like waves.Wanchun Pavilion, located on the top of a mountain at an altitude of about 45 meters, offers a magnificent view of Beijing.On the eastern foot of the mountain there remains a locust tree where Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself after fleeing the Forbidden City on March 19, 1644 (17th year of the Chongzhen era) when Li Zicheng (leader of a peasant uprising, 1606-45?) led a peasant army into Beijing.<img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/350w180000013z0uf81D2_Z_1136_640.jpg" imageid="3273173" sourcewidth="1000" sourcehight="562"><img src="https://ak-d.tripcdn.com/images/100913000000vop3m0346_Z_1136_640.jpg" sourcewidth="1000" sourcehight="847">Badaling Great WallAbout 73 km northwest of central Beijing. The total length of the Badaling Great Wall is about 7,600 m.At the entrance, the path splits into a gentler "Women's Slope" and a steeper "Men's Slope."
