Reviews: Thailand Phuket-Smirnari Islands Day Trip (Departing from Phuket)
Guest User2026-02-21
The organization was excellent. Everything was on time, and I never had to wait long. The food was good and delicious. They provided water, cola, and snacks on board. Lunch included rice, pasta, chicken, vegetables, and watermelon. There wasn't a huge selection, but there was enough for everyone, and everything was delicious. A huge plus to the organizers for providing everything they needed in baskets: towels, masks, and fins. We really enjoyed everything. The islands were just like everyone else's: we stopped for swimming, snorkeling, and went up to the observation deck. We even saw one turtle, but it swam right past :) Few people noticed it. There was plenty of time at each stop. The crew on board was cheerful, joking and dancing, kind, and helpful when needed. Thanks to them!

Extremely satisfied! I've taken sailboats, speedboats, and yachts for island hopping tours before, but for long-distance trips like the Similan Islands, you absolutely need a comfortable, large yacht to avoid seasickness. Especially on the return trip, they kept providing ice cream, fruit, snacks, cola, and mineral water; we ate and ate until we reached shore without any seasickness. The bilingual (Chinese and English) tour guide made communication easy, and the time arrangement was reasonable.
Reviews: 1-day tour to Thailand's Similan Islands from Krabi/Phuket/Khao Lak with two snorkeling sessions + island visit

I was very satisfied with my Similan Islands trip. We did our research beforehand, booked a Seastar boat, and opted for an extra hour of sleep. Our hotel, Naithonburi Beach Resort, was scheduled to pick us up later, but the journey to the pier was still over an hour long. The distance was really a factor; next time, I'll stay near Khao Lak, which is closer to the pier. I looked at some travel guides, and some mentioned piers departing from the top of Phuket Island, but those were speedboats, which I don't like. In the end, I chose the one further away. As someone who's been there, I can tell you that to have a good Similan Islands trip, you really need a good itinerary, choose a suitable boat, and a suitable hotel. Otherwise, you'll be exhausted. I estimated the round trip would take about 4 hours. Since Similan is far away, the travel time is unavoidable. If you plan your transportation well, you can avoid long journeys, but without proper planning, you'll feel like you spend most of your time on buses and boats. The Similan Islands trip was tiring, but it was absolutely gorgeous. The butler service was excellent, responsive, and the service was superb. You can book with confidence.

The Similan Islands are incredibly beautiful, and the jelly-like color of the sea lives up to its name. However, the speedboat ride was extremely bumpy. Even a meeting could take more than an hour, and it felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest, like riding a roller coaster. Other passengers on the boat also felt uncomfortable, so it's not suitable for bringing elderly people or children.
