▲ Starting January 20, 2026, the first stop will be Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine. Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, a tranquil hidden gem surrounded by forests. Nestled deep in the foothills of Mount Aso, Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine is an ancient shrine enveloped by towering cedar trees and moss-covered stone steps. As you ascend the approach path, stone lanterns line both sides, with only the sounds of wind, birdsong, and footsteps remaining—the serene atmosphere naturally slows your pace. This shrine is often considered one of the inspirations for the setting of "Hotarubi no Mori e," and many associate it with the gentle, mysterious, and healing forest world depicted in "Natsume's Book of Friends." While not intentionally recreating anime scenes, you can still sense similar emotions in the play of light and air here.
